Electromagnetic metamaterials do not exist in nature.By artificially designing their resonant units and arranging them differently location,they have certain characteristics that are not found in materials in nature.Metasurface is a flat form of metamaterial.The eigenmode theory can analyze the metasurface.When the antenna is not fed,the physical characteristics of the antenna can be modally analyzed through the eigenmode theory to guide the antenna design.They can provide new ideas of the metasurface reconfigurable antenna.This paper based on the eigenmode theory to analyse metasurface,The result of the analysis find the effective regulation of the metasurface to electromagnetic waves.So as to guide the design of the metasurface polarized reconfigurable antenna.The work contents are as follows.This paper introduce the research background and meaning of metasurface reconfigurable antennas,about metasurface reconfigurable antennas at home and abroad of the research status is being arrangement.At the same time,the basic theory of metasurface antenna and reconfigurable antenna is given,and the eigenmode theory and the moments method are introduced.In this paper,a polarized reconfigurable metasurface antenna is proposed.Firstly,the mode analysis of the rectangular metasurface antenna is carried out by the eigenmode theory,and then the radiating structure is fed.The antenna is composed of the following parts: a metasurface composed of 3×4 metal rectangular patch array,a slot-coupled antenna and a DC bias control circuit.The circuit includes four pairs of switches(PIN1,PIN2,PIN3,PIN4),and the DC bias line.The PIN switch is controlled by the DC bias line.The antenna can switch between different polarization states,respectively: linear polarization,left-hand circular polarization and right-hand circular polarization.In order to verify the performance of the antenna,the antenna is processed and measured.The measured results agree with the simulation results.In this paper,a metasurface high-gain low-profile polarized reconfigurable antenna is proposed.Through the theoretical analysis of eigenmodes,a metasurface that can realize circular polarization is designed.Loading a DC bias circuit on the metasurface layer can realize the transition from linear polarization state to circular polarization state.The simulation results show that the shared-10 d B impedance bandwidth of the antenna in different states is 26%,from 5-6.5 GHz;the 3 d B AR bandwidth is 9.5%,from 5-5.5 GHz.In all operating states,the gain of the antenna is are greater than 7 d B.It has better axial ratio bandwidth,simple structure,low profile and low cost.Finally,The work is summarized and discussed,and the future work is prospected.
