As CPU(Central Processing Unit)technology,GPU(graphics processor)technology,5G network technology and virtual reality interaction technology,the way in which digital entertainment is now played is changing dramatically,with new changes in entertainment media such as digital movies and games.Especially in the post-pandemic era,the development of video games is even more rapid,all types of games are new and endless.Video games have also shifted from original entertainment content to the "ninth art" that can have a profound impact on today’s culture.But at the same time,the negative effects of video games are increasing,and the booming gaming industry has been fiercely criticized by many parents and social scholars.Nowadays,the development of the video game industry is an inevitable trend in the demand of society.The series of social and cultural phenomena caused by video games show that there are still many problems in video games,but also let society see the great potential of video games in the future.There is an often-misunderstood genre within video games,namely serious games that provide knowledge and skill learning and simulate professional training,that is in an awkward position in the current development of the gaming industry.On the one hand,game developers have no idea how to approach "teaching knowledge skills,providing professional training and simulation" in their development,and can only manage to make a game by symbolically adding small interactions.On the market side,serious games simply can’t compete with the entertainment games currently on the market.Their market share is almost negligible,and mainstream gaming industry reports don’t even single out serious games.Serious games have no advantages in quality or quantity,and even most serious games are not profitable.Today,the advent of virtual reality offers a new opportunity for serious gaming to return to the mainstream video game market.Through five chapters,this paper discusses the innovation and change of serious game in the background of virtual reality,and puts it out of its current predicament through the influence of virtual reality technology on serious game,the characteristics and advantages of serious game,the new principles of serious game creation,the new ways of serious game realization and the interaction and practice of serious game.Firstly,it discusses the new opportunities of serious games from the point of view of virtual reality,as well as the current development stage and existing problems of serious games and their advantages and characteristics in the field of education.Secondly,by focusing on the teaching function of serious game in the process of education,the method and logic of realizing the function of serious game in education are obtained.Then this paper puts forward five principles of design creation: fun principle,simplification principle,popularization principle,subsidiarity principle and flexibility principle.Through this creative principle to guide the design,Summarize the tasks that serious games should undertake in the process of education and teaching,clarify the position of serious game itself.Finally,through the practice to verify the feasibility of this five principles and possible questions,in the end of the article to look forward to the serious game development prospects and possible future problems,to provide the serious game future direction.
