With the launch of the third season of Talk Show Conference, created by Xiaoguo Culture in 2020,talk show,a kind of comedy performance, has become increasingly popular in China.Because of the Conference,Yang Li has become one of the most popular talk show actresses in China. Her words "why he is so common, but he can be so confident" have caused extensive debate of gender topic on Weibo, which has also created the word "Puxinnan".Puxinnan literally means "a common and confident man," but the tongue-in-cheek word’s meaning has been changed after countless quotes and discussions among netizens. The author believes that the discourse characteristics reflected by netizens’ interpretation and use of the word "Puxinnan",and the gender implications behind the discourse characteristics, have many inspirations for the study of gender issues in the online public sphere under the environment of social media. This study, based on the theoretical architecture of Critical Discourse Analysis and Social Gender Theory, from the perspective of intertextuality, tries to solve the following problems: From the perspective of intertextuality, what are the discursive characteristics of Weibo discussion participants when discussing and communicating? What are the social implications of these discursive features?
