As a branch of communication science, family communication focuses on the communication and communication phenomenon among members in family life.Compatriots are important family members in an individual’s life, and the privacy management between compatriots deserves attention.Compared with privacy management in online interpersonal relationships, the disclosure and recipient of privacy information in sibling relationships are clear and controllable, and have better conditions for privacy management;Compared with other face-to-face interpersonal situations, peer blood relationship between siblings will have a unique privacy management mode.In addition, the emerging stage of adults is from 18 to 29 years old, which is the transition period for individuals to leave the family and live independently, and the privacy management behavior between them and their compatriots becomes more voluntary and independent.Based on this, this article takes the theory of communication privacy management as the theoretical framework, and takes the disclosure of privacy information as the research entry point. It focuses on the overview and influencing factors of privacy boundary management among siblings during the emerging stage of adults. The overview of privacy boundary management is studied from two levels:personal privacy boundary and collective privacy boundary, measured using two variables:privacy information disclosure and privacy boundary coordination; In terms of influencing factors research, this article explores the limpact of gender and five variables, namely,"Family Privacy Orientation,Conversational Appropriateness,Private Self-consciousness,Perceived Risk, and Perceived Benefits," on the management of privacy boundaries between siblings in the emerging stages of adults, from the perspective of core criteria and trigger criteria. This study adopts a mixed research method of questionnaire survey and in-depth interview.A total of 489 questionnaires were collected and 12 interviewees were interviewed. The collected data were analyzed, and the results of the data analysis were supplemented and explained in combination with the interview content. The findings of the study are as follows:(1)When the privacy information is within the personal privacy boundary, the adult emerging group tends to reveal more privacy information to their siblings. They will dynamically reshape individual privacy boundaries in accordance with their own disclosure rules, and use context resolution models to actively disclose private information and respond to passive disclosure of private information.(2)When private information enters the collective privacy boundary, the adult emerging group tends to implement more privacy boundary coordination behaviors towards their siblings. They will use the mode of setting up partitions to clearly and frankly divide the partitions to prevent parents from entering the border.(3)The management of privacy boundaries for adult emerging groups is influenced by both trigger criteria and core criteria.Among them, there are gender differences between the disclosing party and siblings in privacy information disclosure behavior, while there are no gender differences between the disclosing party and siblings in privacy boundary coordination behavior. In addition to perceived risk variables, family privacy orientation, conversational appropriateness, private selfconsciousness, and perceived benefits all have a significant positive predictive effect on privacy information disclosure behavior among siblings during the emerging stage of adults; In addition to private self-consciousness variables, family privacy orientation, conversational appropriateness, perceived risks, and perceived benefits can significantly and positively predict privacy boundary coordination behavior among siblings during adulthood.
