With the advent of the 5G era and the development of new technologies to promote educational changes,the science popularization industry has begun to actively explore the possibilities of the direction of"games+science popularization".Popular science games have a higher scientific and cultural communication value than entertainment games,but the domestic popular science games industry is still in its early stages of development,with a scarcity of high-quality popular science games,limited game fun and appeal,and low user participation,making it difficult to realize the knowledge dissemination purpose and long-term impact of popular science games.Based on the theory of behavioral design,this paper starts from the perspective of users’ game behaviors,digs into the core influencing factors of users’ game behaviors of popular science games through product research and user study of existing popular science games,and refines the design strategies of popular science games based on behavioral design,and finally carries out the design practice and test verification of popular science games with the example of garbage classification.The main research contents are as follows.To begin,we sort out and define the concepts related to popular science games and behavioral design,explore the application fields and research status of behavioral design through literature research,and comprehensively analyze the feasibility of applying it to the design of popular science games.Secondly,summarize the behavioral elements in Fogg’s behavior model.Through qualitative and quantitative research methods such as user interviews,user behavior analysis and questionnaires,the target audience of popular science games is investigated and analyzed.With motivation,ability and cue factors as the main analysis framework,we deeply explore the user needs and clarify the core influencing factors of user behavior of popular science games.Thirdly,Combined with the game design process and the five-level model of user experience design,thus proposing the design strategy and design model of science popular game line experience based on behavior design science.Finally,the design strategy is applied to the practice of science popularization game design.Taking the knowledge of garbage classification as a practical topic,the game is designed and tested through product analysis and user research to clarify user needs and game objectives,which provides reference for the design of similar popular science games.
