| The rapid development of the Internet and the arrival of Industry 4.0 have put forward requirements for high bandwidth, deterministic low latency, low jitter, and zero packet loss for network traffic transmission. The idea of Software-Defined Networking separating the data plane and the control plane provides’ great convenience for efficient network configuration and centralized management of network resources, while bandwidth reservation related protocols in Time-Sensitive Networking provide network devices with control plane requirements.Bandwidth allocation provides the possibility. In order to meet the needs of traffic transmission,it is an important measure to allocate the existing network resources more reasonably, especially the bandwidth resources used for data communication.Reasonable utilization of network bandwidth can effectively improve the quality of network transmission. In order to ensure the low-latency transmission of network critical traffic, when the critical traffic reaches the network switching device,it allocates specific bandwidth resources to ensure that the transmission of critical traffic is not subject to interference from other traffic and limited network resources.Based on the integration of existing researches on network resource allocation at home and abroad, this paper proposes a static and dynamic bandwidth reservation mechanism for the network. The static bandwidth reservation mechanism reserves bandwidth resources for periodic traffic by solving the inequality equation system composed of traffic characteristics and network resource conditions through the satisfiability model theory when the network is initialized. When the traffic reaches the switching device, the dynamic bandwidth reservation mechanism predicts the subsequent transmission of the traffic and the overall traffic situation of the network, and provides real-time bandwidth reservation services for the traffic.Based on the proposed reservation mechanism, this paper conducts network simulation to test the proposed reservation mechanism. The simulation results show’ that an effective bandwidth allocation strategy can reduce the overall transmission delay of the network and improve the bandwidth utilization of the network link. The test found that the static bandwidth reservation mechanism can effectively solve the transmission problem of periodic traffic, and the dynamic bandwidth reservation mechanism can also make network traffic efficiently transmit when there is burst traffic in the network. |
