With the increasingly close political and cultural exchanges between China and Bangladesh, the economic and trade relations between China and Bangladesh have also become closer and closer. Many Chinese enterprises have invested and set up factories in Bangladesh, and a large number of Bangladeshi businessmen have gone to China to seek business and cooperation opportunities. The trade volume between China and Bangladesh continues to rise.Seizing the opportunity to get closer to Bangladesh and continuously expand China-Bangladesh economic and trade cooperation will become a strategic support point for China to expand its opening up to the outside world in the new era.Against the background, this research aimed to investigate the purchase intention of Chinese smartphones among young consumers in Bangladesh. This is the first attempt to explore the purchase intention of Chinese smartphones among young consumers in Bangladesh. The study uses quantitative research approach on the young generation who are aged between 16-27 years old of Bangladesh and concentrated on more than 200 university and college students. The study examined the factors that influence the behavioral intention to purchase smartphones. The theoretical framework emerged from a review of the literature on the concepts of behavioral intention to purchase smartphones, and the study followed the Theory of Planned Behavior(TPB)and Social Exchange Theory(SET).This study contributed to the existing literature which already worked on Theory and planned behavior,Social exchange theory and purchase intention. The data and information collected were entered into statistical packages for social science analysis.Data were collected using online survey with final statistical analysis using SPSS.The study found that perceived usefulness or attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, trust in quality, and brand goodwill significantly influence the purchase intention and behavior of young consumers in Bangladesh who purchase smartphones from China.Furthermore, the study found that purchase intention has a direct and mediating effect on the factors that influence it.This implies that young consumers in Bangladesh consider multiple factors when deciding to purchase a smartphone from China, and that these factors interact with each other to influence their purchase behavior.Overall, this study provides insights into the factors that influence the purchase intention and behavior of young consumers in Bangladesh regarding Chinese smartphones. These insights can be valuable for Chinese enterprises seeking to expand their market share in Bangladesh and for Bangladeshi businesses looking to cooperate with Chinese enterprises. The study used limited factors and limited samples to understand the Bangladeshi young generation’s purchase intention and behavior in purchasing smartphones from China.Future research can be used on other factors which also affect the purchase intension of young Bangladeshi consumers to purchase smartphones from China and other generations with more samples.
