A Study On The Optimization Of The General Branch Management Mode Of University Library

The general and branch library management mode has the advantages of unified planning,integration of resources,and co-construction and sharing,which can realize the unified management of university libraries at the business level and the effective use of the collection of literature resources.The research on the utilization of library literature resources under this model has also been carried out.At present,most of the relevant studies focus on the construction mode of the local public library service system and tend to be macro;However,the detailed research on relevant practices is relatively insufficient.On the basis of the existing research results,this paper attempts to make a corresponding discussion on the optimal utilization of the document resources in the university library collection under the general-branch library model.In the research process,the library of Yangzhou University is selected as the research object.Yangzhou University was one of the first comprehensive universities in China to merge after the reform and opening up.As each university had its own library before the merger,the geographic distribution of the library of Yangzhou University naturally formed the coexistence of the main library and branch libraries.This provides the basic conditions for Yangzhou University Library to implement the management mode of main and branch libraries.Since the merger,Yangzhou University Library has always adhered to the "one library consciousness" and implemented the combined management of the main and branch libraries.However,as the scale of the university continues to expand,the number of majors and students grows rapidly,the deficiencies of the university library in terms of resource allocation,cooperation of internal institutions,digital application and utilization of special resources become more and more obvious,thus hindering the development of the library itself.In view of the above situation,this paper intends to analyze the internal and external factors faced by Yangzhou University Library,starting from cluster management theory and resource sharing theory,and combining theory with practice.On this basis,the research methods of literature analysis and questionnaire survey are used to analyze the problems in the utilization of literature resources of Yangzhou University Library under the model of master-branch library.This paper also proposes suggestions for optimizing the utilization of the library resources in Yangzhou University library collection in four aspects:formulating a special strategic plan,promoting the construction and sharing of digital resources,innovating and developing various special resources,and promoting the integration of cross-border culture and tourism.Through the research of this paper,we hope to promote the complementation and matching among various elements and related resources of university libraries,and to provide inspiration for further improvement of literature resources co-construction and sharing in university libraries under the general-sub-library model.
