Risk not only affects the fate of human beings in the global political, economic and ecological spheres, but also touches on the threats that individuals may suffer in their studies, work and life.In the context of globalization, economic development and industrialization have led to the rise of the gender movement. The status and rights of females are constantly mentioned.Whether to achieve individual value and economic independence in the workplace,or to return to the family and follow the traditional division of roles, modern women are cautiously making choices at various points in their lives.Late marriage has become a trend in today’s China. It has become the result of the reality that women are getting more and more education opportunities,as well as the expression of their behavior to protect themselves from the risks of being hurt in marriage.Gender relations have become complex and sensitive with the influx of information about risks of marriage on social media, which affects young unmarried women’s degree of risk perception on marriage.Social media becomes an amplifier of risk, constantly stimulating their risk perception, resulting in the expression of media panic. The interaction between the risk perception and media panic has been verified through various issues on social media in recent years.Whether it is public panic caused by rumors of epidemics or women’s panic caused by gender violence,it both suggests a correlation between the risk perception and media panic. Therefore, the research built a model based on the acquisition of risk information, risk perception and media panic, taking the issue of female risk in marriage as a case study. The research found that:1)credibility of the source has a significant positive effect on the risk perception of marriage at the social level, but not at the personal level;2)information quality has a significant positive effect on the physiological, behavioral, and emotional levels of media panic, and it acts more on the emotional level. The better the information, the higher the degree of media panic;3)There is a bidirectional positive effect between the risk perception and media panic. The inverse effect of media panic on the risk perception is confirmed;4)There is a significant positive moderating effect of source credibility and information quality between each path of the risk perception and media panic. When they intervene, the degree of influence deepens. At the same time, the research found that the acquisition of risk information and its subdimensions can be moderating variables in the path between risk perception and media panic, providing a research idea for further research on risk perception and media panic.
