| With the rapid development of human-computer interaction and data visualization,graphical user interface design has also entered a new stage of development.User interface is the medium of information communication between system and user,and icon design becomes the first threshold for users to enter the interface cognition.Icons can intuitively convey information and help users quickly understand and use APP,and icon design directly affects user experience and efficiency.With the popularity of mobile devices,the rapid development of new consumption in China,characterized by the new business model of mobile consumption,marks the arrival of the era of e-commerce in China.In terms of mobile shopping APP interface,the large number of icons and redundant information structure can easily cause the imbalance of information access between interface design and user cognition,and the icon design don’t conform to the user’s cognitive habit will also increase the user’s cognitive load.Therefore,based on the cognitive load theory,it is very important to study the icon design principles and analyze the user cognition and usage habits for user interface design.This study takes cognitive load theory as the basic framework,combines physiological experimental data as the quantitative basis,explores the influence of icon design elements on users’ cognitive load,and applies the argumentative framework to design practice,proposes icon design principles based on cognitive load theory,and conducts design evaluation,aiming to provide reference and guidance for mobile shopping APP interface design.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:First,explain the cognitive load theory,icon design,and the current research status of mobile shopping,and analyze the cognitive load and interaction efficiency of mobile shopping APP interface icon design.Second,explain the rationality of the cognitive load theory framework and evaluation methods,and use them to compare the characteristics of icon design,establish the cognitive load analysis model in icon design,and propose a research framework of icon cognition based on cognitive load theory.Third,combining the elements of interface design and cognitive load theory,take the interface design of mobile shopping APP as an example,and analyze the problems that affect the interaction efficiency such as information stacking,unreasonable architecture,icon design and the cognitive load brought by the interface design of mobile shopping APP.Fourth,the icon cognition and memory experiment was conducted to detect the cognitive load problem in icon design with quantitative data.The experiments were conducted to explore the effects of the composition and complexity of icons on users’ cognitive memory under time pressure.The change in pupil diameter was recorded by an Eye Tracker as a physiological indicator,and the correctness of the experimental process was recorded as a behavioral indicator to evaluate the user’s cognitive performance from both physiological and behavioral aspects.Fifth,based on the theoretical basis and experimental findings,the shopping APP interface optimization design practice.Taking Ali’s live shopping APP "Click Taobao" as an example,we combined the design research and experimental findings to optimize the overall design in terms of functional architecture and icon design,and evaluated the design results using the questionnaire scale method.This thesis combined cognitive load theory and eye-tracking experiments to study and analyze the influence of icon design factors on users’ cognitive load,improving the user experience of the interactive interface of shopping apps,providing references and suggestions for icon design in the field of mobile devices,and having reference value for designers to reduce cognitive load and enhance user interaction experience through interface design. |
