With the development of modern radio technology and the popularization of wireless communication equipment, radio communication has become an integral part of people’s daily life.A large amount of wireless data makes the spectrum monitoring work face a severe test. The main problems of spectrum monitoring-related software are:insufficient automation, high professional threshold, complex configuration, and users need strong professional knowledge. The lack of versatility makes it difficult for different manufacturers’ spectrum software and RF front-end devices to work together.Different hardware devices are inconsistent in terms of data collection, processing, and storage methods. The lack of a set of common processing processes or standards makes the development difficult and the development cycle long.To solve the above problems, this study designs and implements a highly automated and universal spectrum monitoring software. The main contributions include the following two aspects:(1)High degree of automation. This study summarizes representative spectrum monitoring and processing processes, aiming to simplify operations and reduce usage barriers through standardized data processing processes. To further improve the intelligence and automation level of this system, this study adds an adaptive threshold algorithm to filter out background noise during the spectrum processing process. To solve the problem that the traditional historical spectrum data cannot adapt to the change of the electromagnetic environment, this study adds a spectrum background dynamic adaptation algorithm to make the historical noise threshold data dynamically change with the electromagnetic spectrum background. This study introduces the spectral template function for specific target signals to further simplify signal matching.Users can complete spectrum detection and subsequent processing through simple operations. In addition, this study incorporates multithreading and multi-device control modules to enable smooth collaboration between multiple different devices. The inbound and outbound rules module simplifies the control of the database, reduces the user’s usage threshold, and further improves the level of automation.(2)Strong universality. This study conducts a detailed investigation of the development status of the spectrum monitoring industry at home and abroad. After fully understanding the research background, combined with the relevant technical indicators and scenario requirements of spectrum monitoring, through research and practice on the data acquisition methods, data formats, and software interface call methods of various front-end receiver devices,a set of data acquisition and preprocessing processes was summarized, and loaded into this system as a key intermediate node, improved the universality of this system for different hardware devices. The inter-process communication mode of shared memory and socket communication improves the flexibility of the system in cross-platform data transmission. At the same time, the open module interface and parameter configuration mode allow software users not to have to master all the implementation details of the system. They only need to match the interface and follow the agreed data format to complete the integration of new functions, reducing the development difficulty for developers. The addition of third-party extension modules has also enriched the task-processing ability of this system and improved its functional universality. Finally, through docking with the GNU Radio platform, this system is connected to the open-source software defined radio platform through external modules, achieving drive and control of more hardware devices, and improving universality in terms of adaptability.
