The 5G communication technology provides higher transmission rate and better user experience. However, due to the introduction of large-scale antenna arrays and millimeter-wave communication technologies in 5G,the antenna systems of communication devices have become more complex and highly integrated, which has brought difficulties to device performance testing. Therefore, there is an urgent need for suitable test methods to evaluate the antenna performance of such devices. This is crucial for the development and production of communication equipment.Over the air(OTA)testing is a viable approach because it can provide test conditions similar to a real propagation environment, making all key components of the DUT’s antenna system controllable and predictable in a laboratory environment,Repeated testing to complete the performance evaluation of the device under test is an important step in the development and production of communication devices such as terminals. The research focus of this paper is the OTA performance test method under the 5G millimeter wave terminal,in order to achieve low-cost and accurate OTA test. The main research content of this paper is as follows:1)Research on Probe Selection Algorithm for Simple Sector Multi Probe Anechoic Chamber System. In a Simple Sector Multi Probe Anechoic Chamber System, due to limited hardware resources,in order to reduce the system cost and improve the channel reconstruction accuracy in the case of a small number of probes, this paper proposes a probe selection algorithm based on the improved firefly algorithm.Heuristic search with extremely high solution accuracy. The improvement of the firefly algorithm in this paper is that it can solve discrete optimization problems and increase the ability to jump out of the local optimum and find the global optimum. In this paper, the algorithm is simulated and compared with the Multi-shot algorithm under different channel models and probe configurations. The simulation analysis results show that the probe selection algorithm proposed in this paper can obtain better channel reconstruction under the same number of effective probes.precision.Therefore,the algorithm provides an important basis for the probe selection scheme of multi-antenna air interface test. Finally, the paper analyzes the channel reconstruction error under two different probe configurations. The results show that when using the same number of effective probes, the sector-shaped probe configuration can obtain a lower root mean square error than the ring-shaped probe configuration, thereby obtaining better channel reconstruction accuracy.2)Research on design parameters of a dual anechoic chamber OTA testing system.Based on the dual chamber OTA test system, this paper discusses the design parameters of the system. This paper uses fixed beam power loss and angular power spectrum similarity as system evaluation indicators, and through a large number of simulation experiments, discusses the distance between the base station side anechoic chamber of the dual anechoic chamber system and the probe configuration scheme of the double-ended anechoic chamber,in order to standardize the OTA test of the dual anechoic chamber Work provides important reference value. When determining the probe configuration scheme for the double-ended anechoic chamber, the improved firefly algorithm was used for probe selection, which reduced the number of probes used. The final simulation results show that the OTA test of the dual-chamber system can be completed with fewer probes and smaller chambers, which reduces the complexity of the system. In addition, this study can provide theoretical support for the construction of practical dual anechoic chamber.
