Abstract/Summary:
Visual text analytics and computer-aided design(CAD)have developed rapidly in recent years,which have attracted attention from the museum industry.These works have been initially used to assist curation.However,related text analysis works ignore the semantic mining of exhibition texts,which cannot effectively support the selection of curatorial topics.Few researches care about how to arrange the exhibition interactively and support flexible editing and logical narration.Researches related to display design have problems such as omitting the characteristics of the cultural field and unfriendly interaction design.This article is oriented to the museum’s curatorial work scene and conducts an in-depth study of visual text analytics and computer-aided design methods in enhancing the effective use of digital resources,and explores several key issues affecting curatorial work: the extraction and diversity analysis of exhibition topics,difficulty in generating narrative and structured exhibition schemes interactively,and the weakness of the existed exhibition simulation framework in effectively balancing systemization and convenience.The specific research contents and contributions can be divided into the following three aspects:(1)Effectively extracting topics from exhibition texts is of great significance for curators in conducting diversified analysis on topic selection.To quickly grasp the theme features of exhibitions,this thesis proposes a visual analysis method of exhibition texts based on the topic modeling,which uses text mining technology to extract the semantic information of these texts.Theme features and semantic details of exhibitions are presented intuitively through visualization design.Taking the scatter map as the entrance,experts could do varied explorations of the topic distribution.They could analyze relations between themes and time,themes and space further.Mining the commonalities and characteristics of different exhibitions is also supported.(2)Interactively arranging the exhibition and effectively integrating cultural relics data to provide logical narrations are often restricted due to the fragmentation of cultural relics information.When arranging an exhibition,to make efficient use of cultural relic data and enhance the narrative logic and structured expression,this thesis proposes a solution to interactively generating the exhibition scheme based on cultural relics data.Using cultural relics knowledge graphs connects fragment information by relationship.An online rich text editing platform is provided to support interactive editing of exhibition outlines.The knowledge network and the semantic portrait of cultural relics allow experts to retain logic and exploring more possibilities of narrations when selecting exhibits.Experts can record results of exploration based on views,edit the exhibition online,and obtain structured outlines generated automatically as well.(3)Existing works related to computer-aided design in the museum field cannot provide curators with systematic and convenient interactive operations and lack flexibility in establishing the mapping from text space to visual space.This thesis proposes a lightweight computer-aided museum exhibition design framework,optimizing in the following aspects: digital resource allocation,scene management,reality scene rendering,and lightweight interactive operations.The framework supports users to iterate the three-dimensional deployment of the exhibition quickly and supports the automatic layout of the exhibition hall and the automatic placement of cultural relics exhibits based on templates.
