Narrative Study Of Health-related Interactive Data Journalism

In recent years,especially since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic,people’s attention to health issues and demand for health information has continued to increase.News production organizations are not only meeting users’ basic information needs but also constantly exploring and innovating ways to present information,using visual and interactive data journalism to convey health knowledge in a data-driven,intuitive,and interactive way,giving users autonomy and enriching the narrative expression of news.This article focuses on the special news practice of interactive data journalism in health reporting.By combining case analysis method and content analysis method,this paper analyzes and grasps the forms of health-related interactive data journalism at the macro level,and explores the combination relationship between the narrative elements of health-related interactive data journalism under different health issues at the micro level,summarizing the narrative logic and rules of health-related interactive data journalism.The research results show that there are different narrative forms of health-related interactive data journalism along the three paths of interactive function,text form,and visual expression.Each of these presents the characteristics of this news practice from different angles.For health-related interactive data journalism,there is a certain correlation between different health topics and interactive function,text form,and visual expression.Content related to public health and the medical industry tends to use path selection interactive functions and indicative visualizations,while content related to daily life and physical and mental health tends to use interface responsive interactive functions and accompanying text forms.Furthermore,there is a significant correlation between interactive function and text form.Various types of health topics prefer to use path selection interactive functions and introduced text,or interface responsive interactive functions and accompanying text.Based on technology,health-related interactive data journalism introduces user participation,the unification of time and space,and relationship into the narrative expression of health stories,realizing the social value and purpose of health communication.After clarifying the relationship between the narrative forms of health-related interactive data journalism,news producers can examine the characteristics of health content and information in the process of constructing interactive narrative space,better combine interactivity and narrative,and activate the dissemination effect of health-related interactive data journalism.
