Direction Of Arrival(DOA)estimation is widely used in radar, communication, sonar and electronic reconnaissance.Because the wideband signal can carry a large amount of information, strong anti-interference ability,so the wideband signal DOA estimation get more scholars attention. At present,Direction Of Arrival(DOA)algorithms for wideband signals are mainly based on two kinds of algorithms: Incoherent Signal Subspace Method(ISSM)and Coherent Signal Subspace Method(CSSM).In this paper, the wideband signal is processed by CSSM algorithm, and then the DOA is estimated by ML method.Because the maximum likelihood DOA estimation involves multi-dimensional nonlinear optimization problems, this paper uses the Wild Horse Optimization(WHO)algorithm and the Improved Snake Optimization(ISO)algorithm, the main research contents of wideband DOA estimation on vector hydrophone are as follows:(1)In order to solve the multi-dimensional nonlinear problem in the maximum likelihood, propose a wideband signal estimation method which combines WHO algorithm and ML algorithm, and analyzes and compares this algorithm.Simulation results show that the WL-DOA estimation method based on WHO algorithm has better convergence speed, lower root mean square error and more robust performance.(2)An improved Snake Optimization algorithm is proposed to solve the problem of low precision and easy to fall into local optimum.Through the comparison of 18 test functions,it is found that the improved snake optimization algorithm has obvious improvement in convergence speed, stability and convergence precision. The simulation results show that the performance of DOA estimation for wideband signals is improved obviously by applying the improved algorithm to TCT-ML-DOA estimation.
