| In the context of social media communication, with the increasingly prominent role of individuals in communication,‘micro-celebrity communication’ has gradually become an innovative concept applied to cross-cultural communication practices in mainstream media. It has led to a renewed awareness of the importance of changing the traditional subject-object mode of communication, and placing more emphasis on the interaction between subjects in order to resolve cultural conflicts and reach consensus. To this end, this paper has used dialogue theory from an intersubjectivity perspective, using a combination of participant observation and in-depth interviews to examine how Arabic-speaking social media influencers from China Media Group achieve understanding and build dialogue with their Arab users, and what understandings and consensus are mainly reached, while balancing the communication needs of a national perspective.During the course of this study, interviews were conducted with Arabic-speaking social media influencers to obtain first-hand information about their social media operations and user interactions.Combined with the researcher’s observations of their specific communications and interactions with Arabic users, this paper also yielded supporting material that allows for a more specific presentation of their cross-cultural interactions and an in-depth analysis of the factors that influence their achievement of understanding and dialogue.Through this study,it was found that the proactive understanding of Arab users by these Social Media Influencers is influenced by the growing engagement between China and the Arabs, the organisation’s communication goals and their personal cultural background. At the same time, their proactive understanding of content topics and expressions has a profound impact on how Arab users understand the meaning of the content and how they interact with it.The globalisation context, the interaction mechanisms of social media and the exchange of personal perspectives have led to a stable question-and-answer dialogue between the two parties through a back-and-forth logic. In this process, the existing ‘horizons’ of the two parties are constantly expanded and updated, and not only do they reach an understanding and consensus on the personalities of the anchors and the views of the content they disseminate, but also negotiate misunderstandings and conflicts that exist. As a whole, the active understanding and interaction strategies adopted by the anchors in content communication have a significant impact on mutual understanding and dialogue in intercultural communication. At the same time, the process of intercultural understanding between subjects is essentially a process of convergence of the ‘horizon’ of both parties through content interaction and dialogue. In addition, the dialogue constructed in the process is essentially a reciprocal relationship of understanding. |
