News is to show the recent facts to the public comprehensively, truly, objectively and quickly through the words of journalists.News needs to be true and objective, but in today’s increasingly rich spiritual life, news also needs to add literary elements.News and literature belong to the same vein, and news writing can integrate literary creative means and combine news and literature to create excellent news works. The reception aesthetics theory founded by Hans Robert Jauss and others focuses on the reader-centered theory from the past "author-centered theory" and "work-centered theory",highlighting the role of readers in works and authors. In the process of news creation and dissemination, the role of readers is also extremely important.Based on Hans Robert Jauss’ s reception aesthetics theory, this research adopts two research methods: text analysis and interdisciplinary research, and studies the role of literariness in news writing by analyzing the winning works in the in-depth reporting category of text communication from the 29 th to 31 st China News Awards. This paper mainly expounds the literariness of news and the theory of reception aesthetics, and probes into the correlation between them; Then,by understanding the purpose, standard and award setting of the China Prize for Journalism, and analyzing the winning works, this paper explains the literary elements in the winning works. On this basis,it shows that literariness has the functions of increasing news authenticity, enhancing readers’ spirit, increasing news narrative depth, extending news value and helping to break through the news solidification structure.
