With the development of industrial technology,electromechanical products have evolved into complex systems with mechanical,electromagnetic,hydraulic,thermal,and control subsystems from different fields.Consequently,multi-domain unified modeling and simulation has played a progressively significant role in the development of electromechanical systems.As a typical complex electromechanical system,phased array radar antennas have subsystems in different domains such as electromagnetic,mechanical,and thermal.However,currently the modeling and simulation of antennas mainly focus on independent physical processes in each field and barely have macroanalysis and system logic analysis,which have restricted the efficiency and improvement of antenna design.In this thesis,modeling and simulation methods of phased array antenna system were studied with the help of the multi-domain unified modeling language Modelica.The main research of this thesis is shown as follows:(1)Research on electromagnetic domain model library of phased array antennas.According to the working principle of phased array antennas,the electromagnetic system of phased array antenna was divided into signal module,T/R module and array module,which form the library of the electromagnetic system.For the signal module,we created several commonly used pulse signal models.For the T/R component module,we individually modeled the internal components.For the antenna array,we developed several kinds of isotropic antenna arrays and used the method of moments to model the dipole antenna arrays.As a result,the electromagnetc model library of the phased array antenna was established by the all components above.Based on the electromagnetic model library,a system model of the phased array antenna had been constructed.The simulation results had been verified and compared through MATLAB Phased Array Toolbox.Finally,the speed of several simulation methods was explored,and the results indicate that the Euler method had the best efficiency.(2)Research on thermal,fluid and mechanical domain model libraries of phased array antennas.In the thermal and fluid domain,considering the working principle of the phased array antennas,the thermal and fluid system was divided into several modules:T/R module,cold plate,and pipe circuit.Then the thermal and fluid libraries were established.For the T/R module,it was packaged as a heat source whose thermal power changes with time,and the heat transfer process of its shell was modeled as single-layer wall heat conduction based on Fourier’s law of heat conduction.In the mechanical domain,we simplify the structured of the antenna array module and considered its mechanical behavior under concentrated and distributed loads.Lastly,based on the constructed thermal flow domain model library,a thermal control system model for a specific phased array radar antenna was developed,and simulation results were compared with those from Amesim to verify the accuracy of the model.(3)Research on multi-domain modeling and simulation of phased array antennas based on component library.Firstly,the relationships and influences between the objects in various domains of phased array antennas were sorted out.Then,the components in the electromagnetic,thermal,and mechanical modules were assembled separately,and the performance of the phased array antennas was affected by passing parameters through the interfaces between the domains under the same framework.Finally,by comparing the established multi-domain system model with the traditional antenna system model established by the MATLAB antenna toolbox,the results showed that the multi-domain system model could more comprehensively describe the behavior of the antenna system.The work in this paper established a phased array antenna multi-domain system model library,which helps to quickly build an antenna multi-domain system model in the early stage of antenna development,so as to efficiently and accurately evaluate system design schemes and improve the design efficiency and quality of phased array antennas.
