Knowledge Structure Measurement Of University Journals And Its Correlation With Academic Influence

The development of academic journals is of great significance to promote the prosperity of science and technology development,and is an important carrier and platform for the release and exchange of scientific research results.As an important part of high-quality academic journals,university journals play an indelible role in cultivating outstanding talents and promoting the development of disciplines in universities.And the overall quality of the journal is also closely related to the scientific research level and strength of the university.Therefore,it is particularly important to explore the influencing factors that affect the development of university journals.However,at present,the analysis and research on it in China is mostly qualitative research and less quantitative research.Most of them are evaluated from the perspective of academic impact evaluation,ignoring the influence of internal factors such as journal research content or knowledge structure.So it is difficult to comprehensively analyze and understand the development and change rules of journals.Therefore,based on the theoretical research on academic influence and journal knowledge structure,firstly,a measurement system of 10 characteristics and 26 measurement indicators of journal knowledge structure is constructed from three dimensions: research knowledge distribution,research subject distribution and knowledge flow characteristics.Secondly,on the basis of an overview of the development of university journals in Jiangxi Province,the paper selects 15 university journals as samples for empirical analysis,and the knowledge structure of each journal is measured and analyzed based on the data of in the Weipu database from2001 to 2021.Thirdly,in order to further explore the relationship between the knowledge structure measurement system and the development of academic influence,this paper uses multiple regression model to analyze the correlation between them.Finally,according to the characteristics and shortcomings of the development of knowledge structure of journals in Jiangxi Province,this paper proposes corresponding development suggestions.The main findings are as follows:(1)The system of knowledge structure constructed in this paper can systematically measure the journals of universities in Jiangxi Province,and reflect the basic characteristics of the university journals’ knowledge structure in a better way.(2)The characteristic of knowledge structure indicators of Jiangxi university journals is different,among which the performance in research field stability and durability is better,while the theme durability,the total amount of knowledge input and the immediacy index are obviously insufficient.(3)The knowledge structure has impact on the development of academic influence of journals,and the same knowledge structure indicators have different effects on different dimensions of academic influence.Among them,the total amount of knowledge has a greater impact on university journals’ research scale,the number of cited journals has a greater correlation on the total citations of universities journals,and the immediacy index has a significant correlation effect on the impact factor of journals.(4)Jiangxi universities can enhance the academic influence of journals by strengthening stability and durability of knowledge research,breadth of knowledge research,cooperation between research institutions and knowledge flow.
