Power Manipulation And Reflection Of “Life On Code” In The Era Of Big Data

The media practice of scanning code has brought great convenience to our life.At the same time two-dimensional code has gradually become a channel connecting people,things and computer systems.The behavior of scanning code has become a necessity in People’s Daily life imperceptibly,and the code software has gradually shifted to the word "infrastructure".However,the embedding of two-dimensional code into life is essentially a kind of control,monitoring and devouring.Technology’s control and monitoring of people are realized by embedding in urban infrastructure.Behind the writing of two-dimensional code is technology’s digital governance of people.However,due to the opacity of code,people are often unable to know that the behavior of scanning code represents the output of information,which realizes the construction of power behind the machine from the acquisition of personal digital information.From this point of view,the privacy issues brought by the two-dimensional code,passive digitization problems and how the capital and the country through the two-dimensional code for digital governance and other issues are of deep research value.+Under the background of the era of big data,this research plan adopts the qualitative research methods of in-depth visit and theoretical criticism as the method basis,takes the media practice of two-dimensional code under the epidemic as the research content,and analyzes the problems of digital survival and technological governance faced by people in the media practice of two-dimensional code.Studying the practical significance and power correlation of the application of two-dimensional code such as health code,payment code and traffic code,and taking Foucault’s population governance technique and Deleuze’s control society theory as the theoretical basis,this paper discusses how life in the epidemic life changes from life to digital life in the media practice of scanning code,and is forced to be included in the digital system to form the digital self predicted and supervised by the algorithm.The main research questions are based on four general directions: life style on code in the data era,digital governance mode in code scanning practice,power manipulation hidden behind code scanning practice,and risks and challenges brought by code scanning practice.They diverge outwards and finally realize the in-depth study of all kinds of small problems.Based on the dual support of theory and interview data,the following conclusions are finally drawn: First,there are similar economic governing power subjects and associations behind different QR codes,and they will eventually develop towards the direction of "multi-code integration".The ultimate goal is to build a brand new digital governance system in the direction of digital governance,and this system contains all kinds of power subjects and constantly generates a new relationship chain.Secondly,from Foucault’s disciplining society to Deleuze’s controlling society,the technique of population governance has been transformed into the technique of digital governance.Population is no longer a confined individual,but a digital life freely shuttling in cyberspace.The logic of digital governance hidden behind the two-dimensional code is similar to the modulation logic of the controlling society,but it does not fully reflect the joint action of life and environment.It also reflects the recessive control of the power subject over the digital life.Thirdly,people’s perception of things is gradually replaced by machine perception,that is,media is an extension of people,and people and things are an extension of machines.Digital power manipulation realizes the logic of construction with the help of technology masking and revealing,which should be discussed from the aspect of interface display ignoring digital infrastructure and algorithm technology controlling digital life.Fourthly,the widespread use of two-dimensional code has brought three kinds of challenges,the first is the problem of the disappearance of subjectivity brought by algorithm manipulation and machine recognition under the control society,the second is the digital governance model constructed by two-dimensional code technology has brought the residual life and the deepening of the digital divide and other social ethical issues.Finally,the dependence of political and economic subjects and other power subjects on digital governance leads to serious abuse of two-dimensional code.
