Analysis Of The Relationship Between Government Microblog Information Response Characteristics And Public Trust In Public Crisis Events

The government’s information response has always been an important means to guide public opinion and respond to public crisis events.The government’s information response indirectly affects the public’s trust in the government.In public crisis events,the public is particularly concerned about the government’s information response,and government microblogs are the main medium for the government to disseminate information.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to investigate the information response characteristics of government microblogs in different crisis events,calculate the public trust in government,and explore the correlation between information response characteristics and public trust in government,which helps the government better respond to public crisis events and improve public trust in government.The study includes three main parts: the identification of response characteristics of government microblogs,the measurement of public trust in government,and the correlation analysis between response characteristics and public trust in government.For the identification of response characteristics of government microblogs,this study selected representative cases of public crisis events,crawled through the textual data of government microblogs,determined the framework of response characteristics of government microblogs,and developed quantitative criteria for subsequent measurement.In terms of measuring public trust in government,this paper uses government microblogging data as the measurement target and adopts a machine learning approach to quantitatively measure public trust in government.Finally,this study conducts correlation and regression analyses to investigate the association between response characteristics and public trust in government.The results of the study show that the response subject characteristics,information characteristics,and communication characteristics of government microblogs are all correlated with public trust.Public trust is higher for government microblogs with high communication influence,better reputation,high attention span,and high relevance to events.At the level of response information dissemination,detailed,timely,and positive and responsible responses can effectively enhance public trust in the government.Different response strategies for different public crisis events are conducive to improving public trust in the government.The results of this study provide data and methodological support for government agencies and government microblog managers to better respond to public crisis events,to more accurately grasp public needs and expectations when publishing government microblogs,and to repair and enhance public trust in government.
