Industrial robots are widely used in modern workshops for improving production efficiency and reducing production costs.However,industrial robot operations have not been unmanned at present.Teach pendant is the core component of the industrial robot system and the bridge between the operator and the robot.In reality,the complex operation process of the teach pendant leads to high learning costs,which means a long training period of novice operators to complete tasks independently.The user-centered design advocates makes it easier for novice to use the teach pendant,and optimizing the user’s experience.This requires designers to transform it into design strategies on the basis of in-depth understanding of user knowledge to generate and iterate products.Linkography was originally a method for studying the cognitive activities of designers.It objectively obtains the data information of participants in the design process through protocol analysis,and visualizes the information in an organized way,which is a process research methods.The interaction between users and products is a continuous process,which shows the applicability of this method to acquire user knowledge.Based on this,this thesis launches the user knowledge research based on the linkography and applies it to the optimization design of the teach pendant,which specifically includes the following three parts:(1)Theoretical and methodological research: First,this thesis conducts the literature review on linkography,explains the seven stages of it;then,on this basis,the linkography is analyzed and deconstructed from two parts: protocol analysis and visualization theory;finally,from the perspective of user research,the seven stages of the linkography are reconstructed,and proposed a linkography method oriented to user knowledge.(2)Design strategy research: First,a typical teach pendant is selected,combined with its core functions,the key manipulation tasks are determined,the experimental design is carried out by taking the welding task as an example;secondly,novice users are invited to carry out the task operation experiments in order to obtain the verbal reports content;thirdly,the verbal reports are transcribed and segmented,and the linkography is generated according to the coding rules;finally,the user knowledge in the process of human-computer interaction are summarized based on the visualization features of the linkography,and the interactive design strategy of teach pendant is proposed from the four dimensions of information hierarchy,system status,human factors and operational guided.(3)Design application research: First,according to the proposed design strategy,the system function architecture of the teach pendant has been improved;then,on this basis,the prototype optimized design of the teach pendant was carried out around the welding programming task;finally,novice users were invited to evaluate the design,the results show that the optimized teach pendant according to the above strategies can reduce the user’s threshold of use and improve user experience.Through the research of this thesis,it can be considered that the linkography can be used in the user research to obtain user knowledge,and provide guidance for product iteration and optimization by transforming user knowledge into design strategies.This thesis has 79 figures,18 tables,and 112 references.
