With the advent of the information age,the development and progress of high-tech have had a significant impact on users’ information needs.Users’ information needs have shown many characteristics such as diverse forms and methods of demand,posing higher requirements for library service capabilities.The intelligent transformation of libraries has become an inevitable development direction.In recent years,the continuous promotion of practices such as smart cities and smart communities has brought certain pressure to the construction of smart libraries,and also provides advanced experience that can be used for reference.Many public libraries and university libraries in China have started the path of intelligent exploration and have made good progress.However,in the new environment,the evaluation of smart libraries has also faced new challenges.Currently,the existing research results still lack a relatively scientific evaluation framework and system for reference,leading to the problem of evaluation work not keeping up with practical development.Therefore,it is particularly urgent and important to study the evaluation of smart library construction in the information age.This article is based on the needs of theoretical development,and conducts research on the theoretical basis of smart library evaluation.It is committed to establishing a relatively scientific and comprehensive evaluation system for smart library construction,aiming to provide reference for the development of smart library construction in China.In order to construct a relatively scientific and reasonable evaluation system,this article has conducted research from the following three aspects:First of all,this paper comprehensively explains the inevitability of intelligent transformation of libraries in the information age from the research background,research purpose and significance,and introduces its origin and development.At the same time,this paper analyzes the concepts and characteristics of typical smart library at home and abroad,and finally gives a description of the concepts and characteristics of smart library based on the actual situation.This paper systematically discusses the theory,construction and evaluation research of smart library at home and abroad,and introduces the relevant theories that should be used,which provides the necessary theoretical support for determining the evaluation system of smart library construction.Secondly,how to evaluate the construction level of smart library is an urgent problem at this stage.Based on the principles of scientificity,comprehensiveness,pertinence and feasibility,this paper analyzes the construction process of smart library by using Hall three-dimensional structure model,and determines five first-level indicators,namely,librarian,space,resources,service and technology,as well as the specific indicators contained under each first-level indicator.Further,by using Delphi method,the evaluation system of smart library construction in this study is formed.At the same time,Analytic Hierarchy Process and Entropy Method were combined to determine the weight values of each indicator in the evaluation system,providing an evaluation tool for subsequent empirical research on smart libraries.Then,this paper evaluates the intelligent construction level of A city library based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and analyzes the evaluation results in detail from five aspects:librarians,space,resources,services and technology.It can be found that the overall score of the library of city A is 3.38,and the level of intelligence is still in the development stage,among which the scores of librarians and resources are higher,while the scores of space,services and technology are relatively low,which is also in line with the current development of A City Library.On the one hand,the evaluation verifies the scientific and rational nature of the constructed evaluation system.On the other hand,based on the evaluation indicators and evaluation results,the paper provides improvement suggestions for its future development.In the future,A City Library can strengthen the establishment of librarian evaluation and incentive systems,strengthen the integration of technology in the construction and operation of smart spaces,and establish data standards and norms that are in line with the development of smart library.Continuously innovating the content and mode of smart services,as well as expanding the channels for high-tech cooperation and exploration,in order to improve the level of smart construction.Finally,the key research work and conclusions of this article were summarized,and the shortcomings in the research process were pointed out,as well as the prospects for future research.
