| In an open environment,enterprises need to collaborate closely with upstream and downstream companies to achieve better growth.Many domestic companies have achieved development by embedding themselves in the global value chain.In recent years,with the continuous changes in the international political environment and economic structure,as well as the continuous growth of the domestic market and the continuous improvement of the capabilities of domestic supply chain companies,an increasing number of companies have shifted their focus from primarily embedding in the global value chain to primarily embedding in the domestic value chain.As a result,they face many new challenges and issues that need to be addressed urgently.DF Company is a manufacturing enterprise that started operations relatively early in the field of communication equipment in China.In the early stages of development,it actively embedded itself in the Global Value Chain(GVC)by subcontracting for Motorola,thereby gaining advanced manufacturing technology and management experience.In the later stages of development,it started embedding itself in the National Value Chain(NVC)by subcontracting for domestic brand companies such as ZTE and Huawei.DF Company,as a traditional manufacturing enterprise with a history of over 30 years,has continuously enhanced its competitiveness during the process of transitioning its embedding value chain mode,making it a good example.Against the backdrop of the national initiative to accelerate the construction of a domestic-centric circular economy,the study of DF Company,based on the perspective of embedding value chains and its representative development model and challenges,holds certain theoretical significance and practical value.Additionally,it provides effective support for the company’s ongoing embedded value chain development.This article expounds on the research background,significance,and main framework of the DF Company’s embedded value chain development strategy.It discusses and explores relevant theories and viewpoints related to value chains,value chain embedding,core competencies,enhancement of subcontracted company competitiveness,and development strategies.It also discusses the three stages of development for DF Company: from embedding in GVC,to a combination of GVC and NVC,and then primarily embedding in NVC.By conducting a systematic analysis of the developmental trajectory of DF Company’s embedded value chain model and summarizing the core competencies formed in different stages of development,new strategies and development measures are proposed to address the new challenges and issues faced by DF Company in the current dual-cycle development pattern,leveraging the advantages of the dual-cycle environment and the company’s own development.The innovation of this article lies in the analysis of DF Company’s different stages of development from the perspective of the embedded value chain development model,enriching the case analysis and theoretical achievements in representative domains.It also studies the value chain transformation process of DF Company within the framework of the business model,highlighting the factors influencing the transformation of the value chain model and the key areas and corresponding business capabilities that require attention,enabling dynamic adaptation to the new development requirements under the dual-cycle background.By utilizing the SWOT analysis framework and core competency theory,the article analyzes and formulates DF Company’s embedded value chain development strategy,and proposes corresponding safeguard measures. |
