| In the 1990s,Henry Jenkins proposed the concept of "participatory culture" to explore the re-reading and meaning reproduction behavior of TV drama fans towards the original TV drama text. With the accelerated evolution of media technology and the rise of social media, the enthusiasm of the masses to participate in the media production process has become stronger, and the dissemination patterns of participatory culture and the impact on individual cognition, group behavior, and social environment have undergone profound changes. The re-reading and meaning reproduction behavior and dissemination process of classic texts among fandom have also presented new characteristics and ways.Among them, the“Zhenologist” fandom is a large and active fandom with diverse text production, and is one of the most active fandom on the social platform Bilibili, making it a typical case for research on the behavior of participatory culture in fandom,as well as providing ideas for exploring the rules of film and television culture production and reception in social media today. This article mainly uses case study, questionnaire survey, and in-depth interview methods to study the text reproduction practices of the “Zhenologist” fan group on Bilibili.By obtaining information about the group’s basic information, text reproduction activities, and group interaction and communication behaviors,as well as analyzing their produced secondary texts,we aim to interpret the text reproduction practices of the “Zhenologist” fan group.Bilibili,as a social platform with a strong creative atmosphere and mainly UGC content, provides the “Zhenologist” fan group with an opportunity to showcase their love for the original text and their productivity and creativity.Due to the desire for self-satisfaction and self-expression,the “Zhenologist” fan group initiated collective hunting of the "Empresses in the Palace(Zhen Huan Zhuan)" text, and the complexity of the hunting environment and the unlimited proliferation of the original meaning after the hunting, illustrate the dissemination pattern of participatory culture practices of“Zhenologist” fan group in the social media era.The “Zhenologist” fan group’s interpretation and diffusion of the original "Empresses in the Palace" text, imitation and collage, plunder and transcendence, demonstrate the text reproduction ability of “Zhenologist” in the participatory culture space, and also give us new ideas for the promotion and development of film and television dramas today. The text reproduction of the “Zhenologist” fan group on Bilibili not only helped TV drama fans move from individual expression to public space, strengthened the links between groups, but also extended the life of classic texts. However, the various "deviant" behaviors that emerged in their text production activities also brought negative effects, such as the uncontrolled "poaching" of the original text, leading to the collapse of the nobility of classic texts, and their improper production activities causing a series of group behavior issues and infringement of the original text.It is a warning for the participatory culture behaviors of TV drama fandom in social media to maintain the core connotations of classic texts, establish "nomadic" rules, guard against unregulated capital expansion, clarify infringement boundaries, and increase copyright awareness,in order to guide the text reproduction behavior of TV drama fandom in the right direction, and provide a good environment for the public’s participatory culture practices. |
