The Practice And Enlightenment Of American Public Library Cooperating With 4-H Organization To Carry Out Youth Quality Education

In the context of rapid social development,the competition of comprehensive national strength is the competition of talents.Whoever can cultivate and attract better people can seize the highland in the international competition.Public library is a public cultural institution with the function of social education.It is duty bound to give full play to the role of "the second classroom" of youth quality education.In youth quality education activities,youth organizations have certain advantages in activity management,teachers and social influence.Public libraries actively cooperate with youth organizations,which can make up for their deficiencies in teachers,volunteers,equipment and funds on the one hand,and improve the ability and level of education with the help of youth organizations on the other hand.4-H Organization is the largest non-profit youth education organization in the United States.American public libraries strengthen the cooperation with American 4-H Organization,and actively carry out the practice of youth quality education of teenagers with the help of the resource advantages of 4-H Organization.Using the methods of literature survey,network survey,case analysis and analysis and induction,this paper studies the practice of youth quality education carried out by American public libraries and 4-H Organizations,in order to provide enlightenment for the cooperation between Chinese public libraries and youth organizations to carry out youth quality education activities.Secondly,based on the training objectives of teenagers,this paper analyzes the quality education activities of teenagers carried out by American public libraries in cooperation with 4-H Organization from seven aspects: cultural literacy,scientific literacy,artistic literacy,viability,innovation ability,civic awareness and agricultural skills.It also summarizes the experience of American public libraries in cooperating with 4-H Organization to carry out youth quality education activities.Its advanced experience includes: relying on social resources such as 4-H Organization to carry out activities,the activities are in line with the purpose of 4-H Organization,solidly promote the dual education mode of "learning in practice" and "embedded education",implement the activity leading form of parallel tutors and volunteers,and pay attention to the parallel cultivation of multiple qualities and the normalized development of activities,Pay attention to the quality education of rural teenagers.Through the further analysis of the cases of American public libraries cooperating with 4-H Organization to carry out youth quality education activities,it is found that there are still some deficiencies in their activities,such as the imperfect safety guarantee measures of outdoor activities and the lack of evaluation mechanism of educational activities.These deficiencies should be avoided in the practice of Public Libraries in China.Finally,based on the actual situation of the cooperation between China’s public libraries and youth organizations to carry out youth quality education,and drawing on the advanced experience of American public libraries,this paper puts forward development suggestions for the cooperation between China’s public libraries and youth organizations to carry out youth quality education,including: reasonably selecting cooperative youth organizations,making full use of youth organization resources to create educational content,adopting flexible educational models and organizational methods,establishing and improving safety and security measures and evaluation and feedback mechanisms to build a scientific education and security system,and strengthening the quality education of rural teenagers and enhance cooperation with all sectors of society.
