| Graphic elements play an important role in users’ cognition of external objects.With the development of the Internet and the wide use of smart devices,a large amount of information is presented through smart devices,and the demand for improving visual communication means through interface design is also increasing rapidly.The functional interface design of smart devices such as smart phones,tablets and smart TVs displays multiple icons arranged in the matrix.In these graphic arrangements,icons are relatively the same in size and shape to create an organized structure so that visual information can be processed effectively.However,with the diversity and richness of information,how to better regulate emotions and how to enhance users’ visual working memory,so as to improve the efficiency of information acquisition and processing,has become the key points to be considered and discussed in the interface design.At present,many scholars began to study the design of graphic elements,but most of them were about the spacing between icons,the size of icon components and the color of graphics,and people rarely paid attention to the influence of the outline shape of icons on user memory.At the same time,most design theories paid more attention to people’s overall visual experience but did not conduct in-depth research on the gender differences,subconscious level and visual cognition.Therefore,this paper will explore the impact of different shapes of icon contours on information processing and acquisition efficiency from the aspects of emotional differences,gender differences and icon content differences.Firstly,through psychological experiments,the effects of graphic background elements on users’ emotion and memory were studied.Based on the research of subconscious design theory and cognitive psychology theory,experiments on the subconscious memory of graphic outline shape on image and text content of users of different genders were completed.Through the analysis of the experimental data,we could get the difference of the influence of different graphic background shapes on users’ emotion and explore whether this difference has an interactive impact with gender.According to the influence characteristics of shape on emotion and users of different genders,a "subconscious graphic design to improve the efficiency of information acquisition and processing" model is established to provide a theoretical basis for interface design.Secondly,a shape outline design model was proposed according to the experimental results.Combined with the relevant research results of user emotion at home and abroad,this paper summarized the methods and trended of graphical user interface design,explored the application scenarios of graphical element design,and established a "user-centered design method" model to provide a standardized process for design application.Finally,the design theory of icon outline shape was applied to practice,and the evaluation indexes were introduced.Through the research on the interface design of Internet products,the AR-HUD equipment in automatic driving scene was finally selected for design and application.Then we completed the conceptual design in combination with user research,competitive product analysis,user journey map and demand analysis.Based on the theory of usability engineering,the design was evaluated by response time test,working memory ability test and user satisfaction questionnaire.Finally,the effectiveness and usability of the design model were verified. |
