The beam control antenna based on programmable metasurfaces provides new design solutions and solutions for engineering applications such as beam shaping.This article is based on the principle of programmable metasurfaces controlling the phase or amplitude of electromagnetic waves.By changing the encoding state of the metasurface,the antenna radiation beam is switched.A planar microstrip antenna or substrate integrated waveguide antenna is used to replace the horn feed,reducing the overall profile and weight of the antenna.The specific research content is as follows:Research and Design of Low Profile Transmission Array Antennas.Based on the generalized Snell’s law and Floquet’s theorem,a transmission array capable of achieving phase modulation characteristics over a wide frequency range was analyzed and designed.Using a substrate integrated waveguide antenna as the feed source,combined with digital encoding state,the multi beam switching and single beam deflection functions in the Ka frequency band were achieved,and preliminary exploration was conducted on programmable metasurfaces.Research and Design of Low Profile Transmission Programmable Metasurface Antennas.In response to the problem of multiple layers,complex structure,and small scanning range of transmission array antennas,a single-layer metasurface unit with amplitude encoding was analyzed and designed using the principle of transmitting electromagnetic metasurfaces to regulate electromagnetic waves.Using a microstrip slot antenna as the feed source,the overall profile of the antenna is 0.180Through the transform coding state,the single beam can scan 20°to 40°in the positive and negative x-axis direction at 6.2GHz,and the peak gain is 13d Bi.Research and design of low profile reflective programmable metasurface antennas.Propose a reflective 1-bit encoded metasurface unit,which is arranged to form a metasurface of 7×7.A coding and layout method for metasurfaces is proposed based on the beam modulation principle of reflective programmable metasurfaces,using a planar butterfly dipole antenna as the feed source.Real time control of unit status through sending digital coding sequences through the MCU development board,achieving regulation of emitted electromagnetic waves.The simulation and experimental results show that the designed metasurface antenna can achieve switching between two to six beam numbers and beam deflection of single and double beams on the xoz and yoz planes.The distance between the antenna and the metasurface is only 0.050,the overall profile height of the antenna is 0.140,with a peak gain of 10.5d Bi.
