Abstract/Summary:
Electronic voting refers to the method of conducting elections and voting through networks and computers.Compared to traditional voting, electronic voting has advantages such as being unrestricted by geographical location, requiring less manpower and resources, and being convenient and fast. However, electronic voting also has some problems, such as dishonest participants who may maliciously tamper with data for their benefit, and the occurrence of missing or incorrect data when electronic voting systems malfunction.Blockchain technology has the technical characteristics of decentralization, distribution, and immutability, and can provide solutions for electronic voting. The combination of electronic voting and blockchain has become a popular research topic in recent years.However,blockchain-based electronic voting will have a negative impact on the voting results if malicious users use illegal data to manipulate, defraud,or spread rumors on the blockchain. For the illegal data that may be generated during the voting process, such as politically sensitive words, pornographic vocabulary, and abusive language, the increasing amount of data and the immutability of the blockchain make it increasingly difficult to regulate data on the blockchain.Large amounts of data on the blockchain may be maliciously exploited by illegal elements due to ineffective management. Therefore, ensuring data supervision during the voting process is particularly important. This paper conducts research on the current security requirements in electronic voting and the regulatory issues of illegal data related to electronic voting, both domestically and internationally. At the same time, combining blockchain technology,Paillier homomorphic encryption, and CP-ABE to design to achieve an electronic voting mechanism with strong stability, high security, high reliability, and supervisable illegal data.Specifically, the research work of this article is as follows:(1)To address the issues of data manipulation, miscounting or omission of results, security and privacy concerns in electronic voting, this paper proposes a blockchain-based electronic voting scheme. This scheme can achieve the immutability of electronic voting results and the automatic counting effect of smart contracts, improving the stability, security, and reliability of voting results.Additionally, this paper applies CP-ABE technology and Paillier homomorphic encryption technology to achieve access control of voting items and privacy protection of voters.Theoretical and experimental analyses show that the proposed scheme has good applicability.(2)To address the problem of the difficulty in managing illegal data due to the increase in data volume in blockchain electronic voting, this paper uses a key information blocking method to filter and block illegal information that has a relatively minor impact or has a high frequency of change. For illegal information that has a significant impact and is basically fixed,a lightweight transaction mark-blocking method is proposed to enable ordinary business nodes to automatically block and hide relevant information based on the consensus mechanism. Finally, theoretical and experimental analysis shows that this scheme can achieve regulatory control of illegal data on the blockchain.
