Discourse Analysis Of People’s Daily’s Report On "Iron Rice Bowl"

"Iron rice bowl" is a special symbol of history and culture in the context of Our country.With the development of The Times,whether the meaning of the word "iron rice bowl" changes and how the official discourse system constructs it.This paper takes 340 "iron rice bowl" articles of People’s Daily from 1951 to 2020 as the research object,establishes a "iron rice bowl" report corpus of more than 300,000 words,and explores the image of "iron rice bowl" in mainstream discourse system from the perspective of critical discourse analysis theory from the "lifeline" of economic development to hindering social development.Then open dialectical understanding of the migration process,and analyze the game picture of various forces.Through the basic statistical analysis of the People’s Daily’s reports on the "iron rice bowl",it is found that the number of reports,the theme of the report,the style of the report,the distribution of the report page,and the tendency of the report to understand the "iron rice bowl" show certain characteristics,which is reflected in the fluctuating growth of the number of reports,the gradual diversification of the theme of the report,the majority of the report types are news and comments,and the majority of reports are economic pages,The understanding tendency of "iron rice bowl" is characterized by stages,indicating that the official discourse system changes with the times.In the text analysis,the "iron rice bowl" related reports were analyzed from the two dimensions of the report title and the report vocabulary.It was found that the "iron rice bowl" related reports had a certain discourse tendency.From a diachronic perspective,the vocabulary used in the reports reflected the era change of "iron rice bowl".From a synchronic perspective,most reports focused on "economic construction" and "system reform".In discourse practice,different times have different influencing factors.It can be seen that the discourse characteristics of "iron rice bowl" related reports have changed,which can be summarized as: "support" in the "life root son" period,"abandon" in the period of eliminating "the source of economic ills" and open understanding since the new century.In social practice,the "iron rice bowl" related discourse is placed in the social macro environment,and it is found that the "iron rice bowl" media discourse is interconnected with political forces,economic forces,social and cultural forces,media change and other forces.By combing and analyzing the evolution process of "Iron rice Bowl" discourse,it is revealed that the change of "Iron rice bowl" discourse of mainstream media in various stages is the root cause of the power game of political,economic,social and cultural discourse and the balance of the power of news reform,and the evolution of the discourse of mainstream media is the interaction between discourse and practice.
