Survival is the foundation of development, agriculture is the guarantor of survival, agricultural enterprises are the carriers of agricultural development, and the winning factor for the high-quality development of agriculture and agricultural enterprises is science and technology.Enterprise R&D investment is a powerful driving force for agricultural technology innovation and enterprise performance improvement. For this reason, this study has sorted out, analyzed and summarized the current state of government subsidies,R&D investment and enterprise performance at the overall national level and at the enterprise level, but the effect and impact of government subsidies are not yet clear;and in the context of the new era of large-scale innovation, enterprises continue to conduct research and development activities to seek development opportunities, but whether the research and development activities are successfully transformed into research and development results that enhance the strength of the enterprise is still unknown, based on this, this study is devoted to exploring the inner relationship between the three.Based on a large number of readings of relevant domestic and foreign literature, this research firstly inquired about various authoritative industry classification standards, databases, annual reports of listed companies, statistical yearbooks and other materials, and selected 144 listed agricultural companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share listed companies as the research objects.Secondly, based on the relevant literature and the analysis of the current situation of agricultural enterprises, research hypotheses are put forward, research models are constructed, and the relevant data of each year of each enterprise are standardized in the spreadsheet and then imported into statistical software to form the panel data information required for regression.Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, multicollinearity test, regression model selection test and regression analysis were performed on each variable again. The regression results showed that government subsidies significantly promoted the performance of listed agricultural enterprises, and to a certain extent alleviated the plight of listed agricultural enterprises’ lack of funds. It promotes the development of enterprise R&D activities, the utilization efficiency of government subsidies is better than that of processing enterprises, and the enterprises in the eastern region are better than those in the central and western regions;R&D investment has a significant positive impact on the performance of listed agricultural enterprises, indicating that enterprises conduct R&D To a certain extent, the activities successfully transformed R&D investment into unique resources owned by enterprises such as products and technologies.R&D has achieved certain results and significantly improved the performance of agricultural enterprises.Among them, the R&D output efficiency of processing enterprises and enterprises in the central and western regions is slightly higher than that of production. At the same time,R&D investment has a mediating effect, and the effect of this effect is that the production-oriented enterprises are better than the processing-oriented enterprises, and the enterprises in the eastern region are better than those in the central and western regions. In order to verify the accuracy of the regression results,a robustness test was carried out. Finally, according to the empirical analysis results, combined with the development of listed agricultural enterprises, this paper provides superficial suggestions for enterprises to use government subsidies more effectively, promote their own sustainable development, and provide some references for the government to scientifically formulate and improve relevant support and subsidy policies.
