With the continuous development and reform of the financial industry,the competition of commercial banks is becoming increasingly fierce.How to improve business performance and be in a favorable position in the competitive environment has now become an important focus of commercial banks.Senior management team for the production and business operation of commercial Banks,such as strategic planning has played a vital role,and the performance of a connection with the bank,therefore,the researchers both at home and abroad as well as the Banks themselves in recent years research on this question for in-depth exploration,the fact also proves that the characteristics of the senior management team of commercial Banks operating performance does exist certain influence.In this article,through analysis to the senior management team characteristics and the performance of commercial Banks at home and abroad literature,found that most of the scholars to research focused on the characteristics of a particular aspect of executives homogeneity or heterogeneity for the influence of the enterprise,but for different commercial bank executives heterogeneity study is less,and the research focused on the effects of executive compensation on bank performance,The research on the characteristics of top management team on bank performance is insufficient.This paper will focus on the impact of the characteristics of top management team on the performance of commercial banks.This paper selects the data of all A-share listed banks in Shanghai and Shenzhen from 2010 to 2019 in the database of China Tai ’an,and carries out cleaning and sorting on the data,and finally obtains 190 sample data.The proportion of female executives in the senior management team and overseas experience were selected to represent the characteristics of the senior management team as explanatory variables.Total assets,asset-liability ratio,operating income growth rate,the proportion of the largest shareholder and the years of the bank’s establishment were introduced as control variables.Stock return rate replaced asset return rate as explanatory variables.At the same time,the endogenous factors of time and the heterogeneity of the nature of commercial banks are considered,and the multiple regression model is established to verify the relationship between the characteristics of the top management team of commercial banks and the operational performance of commercial banks.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn:First,the proportion of women in the top management team is significantly positively correlated with the operational performance of commercial banks;Second,the proportion of senior management team with overseas experience is significantly positively correlated with commercial bank operating performance.Third,the total assets of the control variables,the establishment year of commercial banks and the growth rate of operating income are significantly positively correlated with the operational performance of commercial banks,while the asset-liability ratio and the shareholding ratio of the largest shareholder are significantly negatively correlated with the operational performance of commercial banks.Fourth,there is a significant positive correlation between the proportion of women in the senior management team and the heterogeneity of commercial banks,and there is a significant positive correlation between the overseas experience of senior management team and urban commercial banks,but there is no significant correlation with the regression results of joint-stock commercial banks and state-controlled banks.
