This study aims to measure the impact of FDI on economic growth in Syria, the focus of this research is to find the relationship between the variables of the study in terms of economic theory and the analysis of this impact by using econometric methods during the period 1991-2015,due to the increase in foreign direct investment flows and increased efforts to the polarization of these investments in Syria during this period. The study concluded that the models studied negatively affects the economic investment growth rate in Syria, mainly due to negative growth rates achieved by the oil sector, even though, its impact on domestic investment is positive and significant, but not as sufficient to transform the negative impact on economic growth posed a positive impact. The study also showed that there is a positive and significant impact of FDI on exports, because of a strong correlation between the export structure and concentration of investment flows in the petroleum sector. This study also provided a number of suggestions to improve climate for foreign direct investment, including: the need to work on the development of infrastructure, the importance of developing human capital by focusing on the training and skills development in order to accommodate modern technology, the need to work on the reform of the banking and financial sector, and continuing to expand the circle of international and bilateral agreements.
