BackgroundWith the improvement of living standard,people pay more and more attention to their healthy,people’s demand for the quality of medical and health services is also getting higher and higher,and the demand for health products is increasing rapidly.The teachers of medical university are the main providers of medical scientific research achievements and they have the advantages of starting businesses in this field.The state has successively introduced preferential policies to encourage the professional and technical personnel of universities to start businesses.However,the entrepreneurial intentions of teachers in university are still low.Many medical scientific research achievements with great application prospects have not been converted into productivity.In this context,it is particularly important to understand the entrepreneurial intention and affecting factors of this group and to propose countermeasures accordingly.ObjectivesTaking X medical university in Henan Province as an example,On the basis of studying the current situation of teachers’ entrepreneurial intentions and the affecting factors,targeted countermeasures are proposed.It can not only provide guidance for medical university teachers on how to improve their entrepreneurial intentions,but also provide theoretical basis for government departments to optimize and perfect entrepreneurial policies.MethodsThe factors affecting the entrepreneurial intentions of teachers in university were summarized by the literature research method,and the research model and hypothesis were established.A questionnaire survey method was used to survey 280 teachers of X medical university in Henan Province.The data was collected through an online questionnaire.To verify the proposed hypotheses,SPSS software was used for correlation and regression analysis of the data.ResultsBy analyzing the entrepreneurial intention and influencing factors of teachers in X medical university in Henan,the results are as follows:(1)The EI was significantly influenced by the individual background factors(gender,age and professional title)in medical university.(2)The EI was significantly positively influenced by entrepreneurial self-efficacy in medical university.(3)The EI was significantly positively influenced by social network,as well the subscales of social network(commercial network,individual network and academic network).(4)Entrepreneurial self-efficacy plays a mediating role in the relationship between the social network and the EI in medical university.ConclusionsAfter empirical research,the main conclusions are as follows:The EI in medical university is moderately low.To improve the EI of the teachers in medical university,we should enrich their social networks and improve their ESE.The teachers should focus on building their social network;Medical university should provide academic opportunities,select entrepreneurial projects and potential entrepreneurs.Medical university should strengthen entrepreneurial education and venture capital for potential entrepreneurs to improve the ESE of the teachers.The government should build an entrepreneurship platform,increase policy support,so as to improve their ESE and enhance their EI. |
