Research On Synergy Of Influencing Factors Of Technology Catch-up In Late Developing Enterprises

The technology catch-up of latecomer firms is affected by many complex factors.To clarify these factors and their complex effects is the key to understand the success mechanism of latecomer firms.Based on the perspective of innovation ecosystem,this paper discusses the influencing factors and coordination effects of technology catch-up of latecomer firms through theoretical and empirical research.Firstly,based on the theory of technological catch-up and technological innovation ecosystem of latecomer firms,this paper constructs the theoretical model and analysis framework of influencing factors of technological catch-up of latecomer firms.Secondly,based on the panel data of 39 household appliance enterprises from 2010 to 2020,the structural equation model is used to explore the influencing factors of technology catch-up in latecomer enterprises.Finally,the fs QCA method is used to analyze the synergistic effect of these influencing factors,and the technology catch-up mode of latecomer firms in China is proposed.The study finds that six factors,namely,economic and policy environment,industrial technological complexity,market openness,technological learning ability of latecomer firms,diversification of corporate partners,and relationship between latecomer firms and relevant parties,have relatively significant indigenous impacts on technological catch-up of latecomer firms in China.The synergistic effects of these factors include :macroeconomic and policy environment are necessary conditions for firms to achieve technological catch-up;the number of R & D personnel,scientific research investment and the relationship with the government of latecomer firms are important conditions for latecomer firms to achieve technological catch-up.Based on these findings,this paper proposes three modes of technological catch-up of latecomer firms,namely,industrial technology support mode,independent innovation mode and government support mode.This paper can deeply illustrate the key influencing factors and synergy of technology catch-up of latecomer firms in China,and provide theory and practical foundation for promoting their ability of technology catch-up.
