With the rapid development of the economy and the improvement of China’s comprehensive national strength, people’s living standards have improved significantly, and the income level of residents has gradually risen. For a long time, with the continuous development of China’s economy and the implementation of relevant policies such as urban bias,a dual economic structure between urban and rural areas has gradually formed, and the income gap between urban and rural areas has gradually widened. The aggravation of the income gap between urban and rural areas in China is caused by the joint action of many factors, the most important reason is that the dual structure of the urban and rural economy has not been solved, and the uneven distribution of urban and rural resources has affected the growth rate of China’s economy, especially in the new normal economic environment, narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas has always been a problem that we are difficult to solve, and it is also an important goal of China’s social progress and economic development. This paper takes the impact of China’s inclusive financial development level on the income of urban and rural residents as the research object, uses China’s provincial panel data from 2013 to 2020,and uses a combination of theoretical research and empirical research to study and analyze the impact of inclusive financial development on the income gap between urban and rural areas. The mediating effect analysis was carried out with economic growth as the intermediary variable, and the heterogeneity analysis was carried out by dividing the national data into four regions of the eastern region, the western region, the central region and the northeast region,as well as the coverage of the development of inclusive finance, the degree of inclusive finance and the degree of digitalization of inclusive finance, which provided some references for the study of the impact of inclusive financial development on the income gap between urban and rural areas in China in different dimensions and different regions.
