Research On The Influence Of Digital Infrastructure On The Technical Complexity Of Service Export

With the deepening of economic globalization and the adjustment of industrial structure,trade in services is playing an increasingly prominent role in international trade.The scale and structure of trade in services are not only a reflection of the level of domestic economic development and industrial structure,but also an important standard to measure international competitiveness.It is gradually becoming a strong engine to promote the development of open economies of all countries.Today,with the vigorous development of digital economy,the depth of digital technology enables service trade,which provides a strong driving force for improving the scale of service export and optimizing the structure of service export.As a solid foundation and important carrier for the development of digital technology,digital infrastructure gives full play to the application degree and efficiency of digital technology in service trade.And then it has an important influence on service export technology upgrading.Therefore,from the perspective of digital infrastructure,it is of great practical significance to study the mechanism of its effect on the technical complexity of service export,so as to develop digital infrastructure with high quality,optimize the structure of service trade and promote a high level of opening up.Firstly,based on the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development database,this paper uses the export data of 103 countries and regions from 2006 to 2021 to construct the technical complexity of service export as the explained variable.Based on the World Bank database,this paper uses the principal component analysis method to construct the comprehensive index of digital infrastructure as the core explanatory variable.The bidirectional fixed effect model was used for baseline regression,and the robustness test was conducted by endogeneity analysis,replacement of core explanatory variables and shortening of time window.The heterogeneity analysis was carried out according to the level of economic development and technological innovation.In the mechanism analysis,this paper tries to test that digital infrastructure can improve the technical complexity of service export by improving labor productivity,reducing trade costs and enhancing the scale of digital service export.In the moderating effect analysis,economic policy uncertainty is introduced into the analysis framework to analyze the role of national economic policy uncertainty and global economic uncertainty on digital infrastructure in the process of affecting the technological complexity of service export.The empirical results of this paper show that the improvement of the development level of digital infrastructure has a significant effect on the technical complexity of service export of various countries.After a series of robustness tests,the conclusion is still valid,but there are differences among different samples.Digital infrastructure significantly promotes the improvement of the technical complexity of service export of countries and regions with low income level and high technological innovation level.In terms of the mechanism,the improvement of the development level of digital infrastructure will significantly improve labor productivity and the scale of digital service export,reduce trade costs,and thus improve the technical complexity of service export.In addition,economic policy uncertainty and global economic policy uncertainty both play a negative moderating role in the process of digital infrastructure affecting the technological complexity of service export.Finally,based on the conclusion of the study,combined with the current situation of the development of digital infrastructure and service trade,this paper puts forward reasonable and feasible targeted suggestions on how to upgrade service export through digital infrastructure: accelerate the construction and improvement of digital infrastructure,promote the industry digital transformation and upgrading;Promote the indepth integration of trade in services and digital technologies,and promote the highlevel development of trade in digital services;Create a favorable environment for digital infrastructure development and implement the strategy of innovation-driven development.Improve the stability and consistency of economic policies,and create a good policy environment for the digital transformation of enterprises.
