Research On The Influence Of Regional Free Trade Agreements On The Export Of Chinese Digital Products

Anti-globalism and trade protectionism are prevalent in the world,and international trade faces many challenges.The long-term stagnation of the Doha Round negotiation(Gao,2018)has shifted the focus of international Trade rules to the development path of regionalism.Since the 1990 s,a wave of Free trade agreements(FTA)has appeared all over the world.Not only have geographically adjacent countries actively tried to sign bilateral or regional free trade agreements,but a large number of free trade agreements have crossed geographical boundaries.Digital products play an increasingly important role in global value chains,and all economies have gradually incorporated the development of digital industries into the focus of national economic development.The influence of deepening FTA on digital products is still under discussion,and its trade effect is still uncertain.Therefore,based on the above background and realistic characteristics,this study combined the depth of regional free trade agreements with the export of digital products to analyze the trade effect and put forward relevant suggestions.Based on 2000-2020,this study extracts data from the in-depth trade agreement database of the World Bank and the database of the United Nations Commission on Trade Development,builds a data system,introduces the corresponding trade gravity model to explore the trade effect of the deepening of China’s FTA,and brings a new perspective for the trade profit and loss assessment of its deepening characteristics.The results show that the deepening of free trade agreement has a significant positive impact on the export of digital products,and it has a specific promotion effect on the export of digital products through horizontal depth and vertical depth.The higher the depth of rules,the more helpful to expand the export of digital products.After endogeneity test and robustness test,the results are still robust.Based on the research conclusions,this study provides important references for the future international cooperation of China’s digital products,the selection of trade partners and the construction of digital governance system,and puts forward policy suggestions.First,China should actively implement the building of free trade areas and enhance the depth of regional trade agreements.Second,we should actively promote high-standard international cooperation in digital trade.Third,maintain the WTO multilateral trading system,enhance the power of discourse of our country in the construction of the global digital trade governance system.
