| With the rapid development of big data and cloud computing,the competition for server products has gradually shifted from technology competition and price competition to customer centered service competition.As a server product,after-sales service efficiency is an important guarantee of customer business continuity.Major server manufacturers continue to invest in improving service quality,resulting in rising service costs.In the increasingly fierce market environment of price competition,how to optimize service costs and further improve service quality has become an important challenge and research focus for enterprises.This article will analyze and study the spare parts inventory management strategy in server maintenance of L Company,and further propose optimization plans to reduce warehouse operating costs and improve the service level of spare parts.By analyzing the process and current situation of server maintenance and spare parts inventory management in L Company,the problems of excessive increase in warehouse operating costs,high inventory shortage rate,and low service level in second-tier cities in L Company’s server spare parts inventory management are identified.Firstly,the warehouse system with independent operation of multiple product lines leads to warehouse redundancy and complex management,which ultimately leads to an increase in operating costs.By merging the three product lines into a warehouse system that supports the entire product line,the effect of reducing costs and expanding coverage is achieved.Secondly,in NPI(New Product Introduction)inventory planning and general inventory planning,unreasonable parameters and predicted values are used in certain specific scenarios,ultimately causing inventory shortages of spare parts.By optimizing NPI’s predicted and planned values,a life cycle failure rate curve is introduced to correct the predicted failure rate to reduce inventory shortages.Then,due to unreasonable low usage inventory replenishment logic and VIP call logic,the service level in second-tier cities is low.Low usage spare parts are replenished by recalculating the consumption probability,and VIP demand prioritizes the use of VIP storage areas,making spare parts more efficient and speeding up turnover,thereby improving the service level in secondtier cities.At the same time,the implementation of optimization measures still requires support from the company level in terms of data support,organizational collaboration with related departments,and collaboration with the spare parts management department to jointly complete the implementation of the plan,ultimately achieving the role of reducing warehouse operating costs and improving the overall service level.This case can be used as a reference for the same industry in spare parts inventory management,hoping to bring inspiration and reference significance to relevant personnel in enterprises. |
