Evaluation And Spatiotemporal Differentiation Of High-quality Development Level Of Tourism In The Yellow River Basin

The Yellow River,as a natural ecological barrier,has been of great significance to China’s social development and cultural inheritance since ancient times.As a strategic pillar industry of China’s national economy,tourism has increasingly prominent social functions in promoting poverty alleviation in poor areas,narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas,and achieving common prosperity.Therefore,improving the development level of tourism in the Yellow River Basin is an inevitable requirement for achieving high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin.This article is based on the five new development concepts and sustainable development concepts,and constructs an evaluation index system for high-quality tourism development from six dimensions: green development level,innovative development level,coordinated development level,shared development level,open development level,and sustainable development level.The comprehensive index method is used to explore the development level and spatial differentiation characteristics of the tourism industry in 68 cities(prefectures,alliances)in the Yellow River Basin from 2010 to 2020.Finally,propose countermeasures and suggestions to promote the high-quality development of the tourism industry.The research results are as follows:(1)From 2010 to 2020,the overall development level of the tourism industry in the Yellow River Basin showed an upward trend.Among them,the level of innovative development and coordinated development increased rapidly,while the level of shared development and green development was relatively slow.There are obvious differences between different regions in the basin,mainly showing a pattern of gradual increase from west to east and from upstream to downstream.However,affected by the COVID-19,the overall level of tourism development in the Yellow River basin will decline in 2020.(2)From the perspective of different sections of the Yellow River Basin,the overall level of tourism development in the lower reaches of the Yellow River Basin is higher than that in the middle and upper reaches,while the level of tourism development in the upper reaches is relatively low.From a specific perspective,the level of upstream open development and shared development is relatively high;The level of coordinated development and open development in the middle reaches is relatively high;The downstream sustainable development level and open development level are relatively high.The level of green development is relatively low in different river basins.(3)From the perspective of different provinces,the tourism development level of Shandong Province along the Yellow River Basin is relatively high,followed by Henan Province,Sichuan Province,and Shaanxi Province;However,the development level of Qinghai and Gansu provinces is relatively low.Specifically,regions with higher levels of development are mainly concentrated in provincial capital cities,especially cities such as Xi’an,Jinan,Zhengzhou,and Taiyuan,which have relatively higher levels of tourism development.Finally,based on the research results,specific implementation paths and countermeasures for promoting the high-quality development of tourism in the Yellow River Basin were proposed from the perspectives of strengthening regional coordination and cooperation,co construction and sharing among regions,and upgrading the entire basin.
