| In recent years, the rapid development of domestic digital economy, digital economy in all walks of life is no longer a detail,to a large extent to promote the rapid development of our economy, the resulting income gap between urban and rural residents has been gradually paid attention to by scholars from all walks of life, narrowing the income gap between urban and rural residents is increasingly onerous tasks. It is an important mission of Chinese development to help rural areas get out of poverty. From the perspective of digital economy development in Shandong Province, this paper studies the impact of income gap between urban and rural residents in Shandong Province, which has certain theoretical and practical significance.Digital economy is a new driving force for global economic growth.Countries around the world are developing digital economy. While promoting economic growth, digital economy also brings many unknown factors.Under the important background that the country vigorously promotes the development of digital economy and welcomes the second centenary goal, this paper reviews relevant literature, discusses the connotation and characteristics of digital economy, obtains rich theoretical basis for support, and lays a solid theoretical foundation for the subsequent research. This paper analyzes the development degree of digital economy in Shandong Province and 16 cities, discusses the changing trend and current situation of income gap between urban and rural residents in Shandong Province, and analyzes the practical development problems in Shandong province. The influence mechanism of digital economy on urban-rural income gap is preliminarily explored. At the same time, panel data of16 prefecture-level cities in Shandong Province from 2011 to 2020 are selected to put forward reasonable hypothesis combined with the actual situation, and the hypothesis is empirically tested:Rural per capita electricity consumption, industrial structure, human capital level, financial industry scale and city scale were selected as control variables.Two-way fixed OLS model was used to empirically test the direct impact of digital economy on the income gap between urban and rural residents.Threshold effect, intermediary effect and moderating effect models were constructed to verify the mechanism of digital economy on the income gap between urban and rural residents. Finally, corresponding policy suggestions are put forward.Through regression analysis, the following conclusions are drawn:(1)The development of digital economy will widen the income gap between urban and rural residents due to the existence of primary and secondary digital divide.(2)The influence of digital economy on the income gap between urban and rural residents is not a simple linear relationship. After the development of digital economy to a certain scale,it can cross the threshold value, thus narrowing the income gap between urban and rural residents.(3)There is an intermediary effect in the way that the development of digital economy affects the income gap between urban and rural residents. The concrete expression is that the development of digital economy will reduce the income gap between urban and rural residents by increasing the government tax revenue and affecting the government expenditure tendency.(4)Agricultural technological progress plays a moderating effect in the process of digital economy’s influence on the income gap between urban and rural residents, and the income gap between urban and rural residents can be narrowed by adjusting digital economy. Finally,on the basis of the empirical analysis results, the corresponding conclusions are put forward, respectively from the digital economy, scientific research investment, rural human capital level, financial development and other aspects of targeted policy recommendations,to build a digital economy development and urban and rural coordinated development path for Shandong Province to provide certain reference. |
