According to the data released in the Digital China Development Report(2021),the scale of China’s digital economy reached 45.5 trillion yuan in 2021,accounting for 39.89% of GDP.The digital economy has become one of the main engines driving economic growth.In the era of digital economy,new digital technologies such as big data,cloud computing and the Internet of Things are developing rapidly.Clothing retail enterprises may be eliminated if they do not follow the trend of this era and implement Digital transformation.In this context,the clothing retail enterprise Senma Clothing has implemented Digital transformation since 2012,and has made a series of achievements.Taking the Digital transformation of Sima Clothing as an example,this paper builds a theoretical framework based on the organizational change theory,transaction efficiency theory and synergy theory,and deeply analyzes three issues:first,how to achieve Digital transformation of Sima Clothing;Second,what impact does the Digital transformation of Sima Clothing have on corporate performance;Third,the impact mechanism of Digital transformation of Sima Clothing on enterprise performance.The research findings of this paper are as follows: First,according to the transformation characteristics of Digital transformation of Sima Clothing,the process of Digital transformation can be divided into the basic stage and the deepening stage.In these two stages,the specific Digital transformation measures implemented by Sima Clothing mainly revolve around the business model,supply chain model,production operation management model,research and development design model and marketing model.Secondly,the Digital transformation of Sima Garments has an impact on corporate performance by influencing organizational change,transaction efficiency and synergy between channels.Finally,although the Digital transformation of Sima Garments can improve enterprise performance at different stages,there are differences between their achievements: at the basic stage,Sima Garments relies on Digital transformation to extricate enterprises from internal and external troubles to a large extent,so as to improve enterprise performance;In the deepening stage,due to the huge amount of Digital transformation funds invested by enterprises,which cannot be converted into considerable profits in the short term,and the impact of industry competition and epidemic,compared with the basic stage,Sima Clothing is not ideal in terms of performance indicators such as net sales interest rate,net return on assets,inventory turnover rate and growth rate of operating income.At the same time,there is also a correlation between the performance achieved in different stages: the performance achieved in the basic stage has a positive impact on the performance achieved in the deepening stage.The purpose of this study is to further enrich the relevant theories on the impact of Digital transformation on enterprise performance,and provide useful reference for other apparel retail enterprises in Digital transformation.
