Fluvial facies strata are one of important reservoirs in Meso-Cenozoic continental basin in China. It is necessary to establish corresponding sequence stratigraphy research method for fluvial facies reservoir evaluation and prediction. This paper studies the research method of sequence stratigraphy in fluvial facies by using high-resolution sequence stratigraphy relies on base-level cycle recognition. Taking Guantao Formation of Neogene, beach area in Shengli Oilfield as an example, this paper presents the identification and correlation of sequence.The primary control factors of fluvial facies sequence forming are structure factor or palaeotopography, climate factor and sediment supply. It is possible that palaeotopography and climate factors influence fluvial facies sequence forming and development macrofeature more apparently. It is base level, not sea (lake) level considered as the main reference level in analysis of fluvial facies sequence stratigraphy. So it can be primary subdivided criterion for sequence stratigraphy.The Guantao Formation can be divided into one long-term base level cycle and five medium-term base level cycles. The short-term base level cycles equivalent to the strata unit with oil-bearing sand bodies scale approximately. According to the region research, the region sequence stratigraphic correlation framework has been established. The change of accommodation and A/S aroused by the change of topographic gradient effects the development and evolve of fluvial facies sedimentation. The channel development style converted from braided stream to low sinuosity stream and meandering stream in ID, 2D and 3D space. On the basis of geological facies and seismic facies analysis, five high-resolution sequence stratigraphy models have been established. The paper summarizes sedimentary system comprehensive models of long-term base level cycle.
