With the enhancing of the exploration degree in mid-shallow reservoirs in Jiyang Depression, deep reservoirs have become the main exploration targets currently. Dongying Sag is the secondary tectonic unit in Jiyang Depression, as a deep exploration series, it is a domain in which there are no breakthroughs in about forty years. On the basis of the basin evolution of predecessors, methods improved the precision of seismic data are studied and used to improve the seismic quality firstly in this paper. Then, by applying techniques of high-precision 3D acquisition and high-precision seismic interpretation, the tectonic pattern and evolutional feature in Kongdian Formation of Dongying Sag are studied; the pattern of arc faulted system on the slope is summarized by the dissection in Dingjiawuzi area. In the absence of deep drilled data, the source rock is studied by seismic facies analysis, thickness analysis and velocity analysis so as to find the new source series in the Formation, this is confirmed by the drilling of well Wang46. According to the seismic reflection features and regional tectonic dynamics, it is presented that Kongdian Formation is an independent synthem different from the overlying Tertiary and underlying Mesozoic, this is very important to the structural interpretation and exploration. The reservoir distribution in the first Member is investigated by applying techniques of seismic attributes analysis, seismic facies analysis, logging constraint inversion etc. The reservoir-forming condition of the Formation is studied to determine the reservoir-controlling factors. These study results are all approved by the subsequent exploration, and they have good application prospects.
