The Dongying Depression is a Tertiary rift basin with rich petroleum resources.More than 30 years' exploration and research has been carried out in this area, and anumber of petroleum pools have been discovered.The aim of this paper is to study the distribution of the source rock in Dongyingdepression,and its influence to the form of oil and gas reservoir,so the effective sourcerock is the stduy object.The existent effective source rock supply hydrocarbon andform small but rich depression.The scale and distributed area of effective source rockcontrol oil and gas reservoir's scale and distribution,so the study of source rock hasimportant significance.The prime identify and evalution source rock is geochemical method,but sourcerock distribution exist anisotropism and rock sample is limited,so this method haslimitations. In this paper, the method is â–³l ogR technology,which analyses therelationship of the sonic differential time logging trace and the electrical resistivitylogging trace to TOC content,and many production and cognitions were obtaind.The TOC content of Niu38 in Dongying depression was obtaind througth loggingmethod,and the result is identical with measured data.The evalution of conterminouswells were validated corrcet.The â–³l ogR method is a effective and feasible method inthe area where is lack of geochemical data.But this method has limitation when thewell is far away coefficient well,the precision was influenced.In order to conquer thislimitation,the evalution must be integrative,that integrated to measured data.The excellent source rock in Dongying depression is divided into three typesaccording to character of rock association:association of oil shale,association of oilshale and muddy limestone,association of muddy limestone-calcareous muddy rock.The excellent source rock develop at sag strip,slope break belt of subsagmargin,first fault-step of slow slope according to the relationship between it andtectonic slope-break.The facies of excellent source rock is suggested to be deep lake facies and fairlydeep lake facies,this is corresponding with favorable tectonic;it develop at TST andHST.T6 oil shale distributes very extensive,which develop at TST according to therelationship between it and sedimentary facies and sequence.The analysis of seismic facies show excellent source rock has certainthickness.The frequency of seismic reflection event is lower.The frequency continuityis poor(Except T6).The gain of the important conclusions have inmportant theoretical and practicalsignificance.In academic,it enrich the theory and method of source rock evaluation.Inpractical,it have guiding significance to source rock prediction and oil-gas explorationaround the source rock.
