Researches for metallogenic series and metallogenic provinces and belts in Liaoning Province havemade the first use of metallogenic series and metallogenic regionalism. The former geological data of LiaoningProvince have been systematically collected and collated so that they have been analyzed and researched. Bythe thorough study and discussion of metallogenic structures, crustal evolution, regionalmetallogenic-controlling factors and their laws, choices of metallogenic prospective provinces, evaluations ofimportant prospective provinces, etc., there have had a series of new understandings of metallogenic series, divisions of metallogenic provinces and belts, metallogenic prognosis, etc. In this way, there will be animportant guiding meaning in the latest search for minerals in Liaoning Province.By the analyses of developing and evolutionary stages of regional geological structures and geologicevents in Liaoning Province, the earth crust in Liaoning Province may be identified to have multicycleevolutionary features and undergo three geotectonic stages including platform basement, firm cover andcontinental marginal active belts, and eight tectonic-cycle evolutions. All kinds of mineral resources may beformed during different tectonic evolutions. As far as the endogenetic metallization, there are three main cyclesduring the geological historical development, including Archeozoic, Eoproterozoic and Mesozoic cycles.Because of the rapidly reduced period of the metallogenic cycles from the early to the late, it is possible toincrease the types of deposits and cause the gradually complex compositions of metal elements in deposits.Through making a general survey of the occurrence features of the deposits in Liaoning Province, notonly nonmetallic ore deposits may be obviously controlled by specific ore-bearing sedimentary formation, buta great many metallic ones by specific positions and lithologic characters formed during a particular period. From Archeozoic to Cenozoic, there were magmatic actions in occurrence during every period. According totheir forming epoches, eight great cycles may be divided, among which the intrusives of Indo-Sinian cycle andYanshan one may be in closer relation with mineralization. The space-time distribution of the deposits inLiaoning Province, which is closely related with specific geological background, has obvious laws. There aremain mineralization periods in the geological evolutionary history of Liaoning Province, that is Archeozoic,Eoproterozoic and Mesozoic eras. Although the formation of a great mumber of deposits in other epoches, thegeological meaning of their metallogenic assemblages may differ greatly from those showing in these threemineralization periods. The evolution of mineral species in geological history may show the evolutionaryhistory of Liaoning crustal structural development from one side.According to geological structural conditions, magmatism and sedimentation related with deposits and thefeatures of deposits themselves, the metallogenic series of the deposits of Liaoning Province may be dividedfor the first time into four serial assemblages and seventeen metallogenic series. The evolution of themetallogenic series in Liaoning Province has gone through three great developing stages and shown nodifference from the crustal evolution of Liaoning Province. In the light of the dividing principles of the â…£metallogenic provinces and belts, and at the base ofmetallogenic laws and researches for metallogenic series, ten metallogenic provinces and belts are divided forthe first time in Liaonimg Province. By starting with different mineral species and deposits of genetic types, summing up the metallogenic geological laws of typical deposits and the indicators of ore-hunting geology, physics, chemistry and remote sensing, and establishing the comprehensive ore-hunting models of fifteen orefields, it is possible to provide the basis for the screening of prospective provinces and the determination oftheir metallogenic potentials. In the light of the outlining principles and methods of prospective provinces, themetallogenic prospective provinces of twenty-eight major mineral species have been marked off for the firsttime in Liaoning Province, major fifteen of which have been expounded and proved.
