The shortage of mineral resources have caused problems of economic development in China. There is a big difference between the mineral supply and demand. We have to use new methods to find new deposits in covered terrains. In recent years, a series of new geochemical methods and technology, such as deep-penetration geochemical methods and wide-spaced geochemical methods, are developed for concealed mineral deposits.Eighteen geochemical provinces have been delineated by wide-spaced deep-penetrating geochemical survey in eastern Tianshan belts. In this paper, the author has made the following conclusions through comparison of the geochemical provinces and the ore districts. All the known ore fields are located in the geochemical provinces, which means that geochemical provinces can provide rich souces of elements for formation of mineral deposits.Five gold geochemical provinces have been delineated in the whole region. Three of them are consistent with the known gold ore fields. The other two are prospective for undiscovered gold deposits.Seven copper geochemical provinces have been delineated and three of them are endowed with hydrothermal copper deposits, porphyry copper deposits and copper-nickel deposits' respectively.Three geochemical provinces of uranium associated with Mo were delineated in the basin. One of them contains a large sandstone-type uranium deposit and a new large uranium deposit was discovered by follow-up drilling program in another province.New deposits have been discovered in the geochemical provinces in recent years. This fact means that the wide-spaced geochemical method is effective to forecast the potential deposit regions.Three potential metallogenic zones have been delineated based on geochemical provinces and geological features.Mineralization element's concentration coefficient shows that formation of Fe deposit need several times enrichment of the average values, but the elements such as Au, Pb, Cu, Zn and U to form a deposit need thousands of times enrichment of the average values.
