In this thesis, the formation, action mechanism and the application on weapon of fuel air explosive have been investigated based on experiment and theory analysis, and the thesis emphasized on experimental study of FAE.The action principle of FAE and its characteristics were anatomized combined with the developing course of FAE and its weapons, the functions and the localizations of FAE weapons were explained, and the advices for the development of FAE and its weapons were proposed.Recur to the high-speed kinematics analysis system, the process of fuel dispersal and cloud formation of double-event FAE equipment were recorded. Based on analyzing the experimental results in real-time, the process of explosive dispersal was divided into three regimes: ejection stage, transition stage and expansion stage. The concept of cloud cavity was proposed and then the optimal position of the double-event FAE equipment was confirmed. By analyzing the change of the cloud statues before detonation, the duration of second ignition was confirmed too. Moreover, the cube root relation of cloud parameters and fuel quantity was founded by analyzing the courses of cloud formation with different equipments. The influence of equipment parameters, such as shell materials, specific central explosive, the ratio of height to diameter, the number of groove to the cloud state were studied by systemic experiment, which provided an important index for optimizing configuration design of FAE equipment.Referred to the engineering experience of internal air-bomb research, principle design for double-event FAE warhead with unitary structure was carried out, and two simulation devices were manufactured. The static explosion experiment results of two devices indicated that: the structure of designed simulation device was reasonable, possessed good action reliability and preferable blast power performance, which made a base for the development of FAE warhead with huge round and unitary structure.A kind of cloud explosion medicament with high blast power was investigated which contains oxidizer, fuel and functional additive as main body. Abundant raw materials, safety and manageability of production technics, and prominent blast power were the characteristics of this kind of medicament. So it was a kind of new medicament which suits to the blockbuster and has a good application foreground.In the research of power evaluation for blast field of FAE, the method of local demarcation of TNT overpressure was advanced. On basis of this method, a set of evaluation procedure was founded, which combined with the characteristics of blast parameters of FAE weapons, and evaluation results should be meet the actuality.
