Fullerenes, C60 and C70, as one of the most important members of carbon family have become the most focused material for their unique chemical and physical properties in the field of condensed matter physics and nanometer materials. It has been a representative as"zero-dimensional"nanomaterials, in which many new physical phenomena and new rules have been found. Very recently, nanometer scale fullerene crystals forming from single fullerene molecule as a building block has attracted much attention due to their unique structure and properties as well as their potential applications in nano devices. Synthesis of well dispersed fullerene nano crystals with different shape, tunable size and highly crystalline is a challenging topic. In this dissertation, we have successfully synthesized a series of fullerene nanocrystals with different shapes, including single crystalline C60 nanorods/nanowires, C60 nanotubes, C60 nanosheets, C60*1m-xylene nanorods/nanowires, C60*1p-xylene nanorods/nanowires and C70 nanorods which are well dispersed. We also have systematically studied their structures, photoluminescence and field emission...
