Application Study About Crushing Statistic Mechanics Principle And Transition Probability On Load-abbition Ball System

Grinding operation is essential to mineral processing. The size and make-up of grinding media will gravely affect its results. The Duan's half-theory formulais a method of accurating selection of the balldiameter. On basis of this, the suitable load ball system will be determined by crushing statistic mechanics principle and grinding effect actually comprehensive reflected by the grinding product quality that is made up of the mineral liberation degree and the fineness of grinding product, the capacity of ball mills and the grinding efficiency. On the other hand, the transition probability based on the law of steel ball wear (D = D0e-kt) will be the basis of addition ball system.The study about crushing statistic mechanics principle and transition probability on the new load-addition ball system of Jinping nickel ore has showed that, comparison with the old load-addition ball system, the grinding and abrasion results and the separation index have been really had a good improvement. That is to say, comparison with the old load ball system, crushing probability distribution is 2.14 times which produced by a mill of new load ball system; mineral liberation degree and fineness of grinding product (-200mesh%), the metal distribution of eligible particle size (0.15~0.010mm ) easy separated, the capacity and less than 76 m utilizable coefficient of ball mills have been increased 4.26%, 3.69%, 5.79%, 11.08%and 5.91% respectively; meanwhile, the ball wear have been decreased 20.22% and the liner life in use has been also lengthened 30%; the energy consumption of handling unit run-of-mine and the noise of plant have been also decreased 0.40 kwh and 2dB due to the drop of whole ball size. On the other hand, the grades of nickel concentrate and copper concentrate and its recovery have been also increased more or less.
